I nearly choked on my croissant when I heard it. 🥐

Footballer Jill Scott who's on Romesh Ranganathan’s show just said she went to the completely wrong floor and waiting room, and someone asked her if she was Kate Griffin promoting a novel. 🤣

I saw this and immediately had an image of a bookshelf filled with novels made of bread. Now I can’t unsee this bakery-literature hybrid fantasy. 📚🍞

Well worth the trip. I went there when they put on a mini exhibition for “A Christmas Carol”. First editions, artwork, etc. Nice little café there too.

My Bluesky “Following” feed is showing posts from accounts I don’t follow when I scroll back about five days. Also, my Lists only show posts going back three or four days then stop.

Hello Julia. I'm glad you enjoyed your jaunt to Jane Austen’s house. I’ve been there a number of times and I love it. It’s a wonderful place. Similarly, Charles Dickens’s house / museum is a great place for authors to visit. 📚

It does. I’m on “year 2” of mine at the moment. “Little and often” seems to be the groove that works for me. ✍️

Looks great, Ronnie. Ah, those original first drafts which become so archaic in the end when compared to the finished baby. Congrats on the perseverance. Added to my TBR. 📚

Definitely! If nothing else it means I can find creative ways of getting revenge on my old enemies via the medium of comic fiction - interpretive dance didn't work out. ✍️🕺

Actually, in later years she referred to herself as "The Queenster". That's the real giveaway. 👑

Good to “meet” you, Jo. Lots of authors and publishing peeps joining Bluesky. Just listening to your chat with Zoe Ball on the BBC Radio 2 Book Club podcast. I’m a “late starter” too with the novel I’m currently writing. ✍️

Great article, Allison. “Little and often” works best for me at the moment. I try to stick to a five- or six-day writing week routine. My sessions vary from 30 minutes to four hours. ✍️

Thanks, Jo. I like this sort of thing so added to my reading list. 📚

I think you'll love it, Daniel. I, too, was unfamiliar with it until last year. I have a few P207s dotted around the house for quick note taking but I find the Kerry superior for longer handwriting sessions. All the best. ✍️

I don't go anywhere without my Moleskine Cahier pocket notebook and Pentel Kerry mechanical pencil. Any jottings later get transferred into a more permanent Leuchtturm1917 A5 or B5. ✍️📒

I’m doing it for the writer’s cabin. Where does one find a writer’s cabin? 🛖

Silent comedy techniques at their best. And bringing Feathers McGraw to life like that is genius.

Loved it. I had a lot of fun spotting all the film references.

I saw this at the London Film Festival in October. Powerful stuff. I have an urge to watch "Superman The Movie" again now.

Perfectly normal behaviour in my house. This is how all parcels are opened. And letters. 📦🪚

Freezer officially full. The eating started in earnest at 19:07 yesterday evening to make more room.

Last night I picked up a ghost story collection. Seconds later I put down the ghost story collection and picked up my Kindle instead. Which, thankfully, contains some of the ghost stories I wanted to read (albeit scattered). 📖👀

I have a tried and tested foolproof method to avoid wrapping presents: 👉 Supply recipient with blindfold 👉 Instruct recipient to don blindfold 👉 Give present 👉 Instruct recipient to remove blindfold If sending present in post, instruct recipient to don blindfold at least two days ahead. 📦
