It was a great read - also all of the references you’ve been making to writing about sexy rat-girls coming in book 3 make so much more sense contextually after reading book 2.

I appreciate that you do that. So many books have characters making decisions that are so bizarre that they create plot holes. It also helps the reader better understand the motivations a character has for their actions.

Is this something unannounced or a comment on something already anticipated?

That flag background looks very tacky AI generated

Any thoughts on Saturday Night Main event - or are you primarily only watching AEW?

Doesn’t matter - they got their sound bites and propaganda already out there when they arrested him.

Adapt or die is the dumbest way to frame AI. It’s really more of a if you’re going to choose to use it - learn how to use it properly as a tool. Otherwise - it’s garbage in, garbage out. It is not creative - it is not generating original content. It has its place but is not required for anyone.

Are readers supposed to be getting the Witch and the Knight vibes?

Weird jerk isn’t anywhere near the top of the list of what I would use - but ok. Finished Castaways - Cozy fantasy mixed with magic school is a nice change of pace - it was enjoyable and the characters have enough personality to look forward to the rest of the series.

I’ll happily be patient on that front. I’ve got so many books I’m working through for authors I follow right now that I haven’t even started Castaways. (It’s next in queue). And that’s not even considering the audiobooks I listen to for my work commute.

So is this book something new that nobody has seen yet?

Nah - it can be - it’s just greed inevitably interferes and leads to the exploitation. We as a society have to reject that interference. It requires at least some measure of altruism and a desire for the well-being of others.

That continuum is quite accurate. Though I might add a couple European left groups to add more context that even the US progressive left isn’t that far left and moving a bit to the left isn’t inherently a bad thing. (Or socialist and communist as the GOP says)

The Democrats weren’t in power - they had the presidency, but the GOP controlled the house which circumvented any policy outcomes. Inflation reduction act was Biden’s signature policy and objectively it was very effective and good for the country.

And if you’re going to focus on an alternative - it would be improved mass transit which still creates jobs - not more vehicles on the road.
