It's baseball, but simpler. Toughest concept is that other than the bowler/wicket keeper (pitcher/catcher), the fielders are described by where they are on a given ball (pitch), rather than a position like second baseman or left fielder. The video linked in this thread is really helpful.

While it wouldn't affect the Senate, we can mostly fix this in the House (and thus the Electoral College) by increasing the size of the House to follow the cube root of the population (about 692 in the 2020 census).
