The announcement for AQUAMANATEE came out in PW! I am so thrilled to be part of this amazing project with Ben Clanton, Sara Miller, and @dcoffical.bsky.social! Get ready to fall in love with the squishable Marlow! 😍 #graphicnovel #kidlit #aquaman #aquamanatee #earlyreader

It’s not just Space X. Musk was able to save Tesla because of a loan from the Dept of Energy. Here he is in 2013 filled with gratitude for the federal agency & the taxpayers who saved his business. From reporting by @puck.news. airmail.news/issues/2025-...

Hard to salvage a relationship that blew up when the other person is the bomber.

I think Fleming is underrated. For one thing, a major subtext in all those books is that every rich asshole he knew from the country club had zero empathy or humanity, and would take over the world if he could.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

Firing all of the JAGs (Judge Advocates General)—the top lawyers in each service branch—is just as bad as, if not worse than, firing (most of) the Joint Chiefs.

This is climate arson, yes, but also the entire value proposition of Tesla, the reason for its insane stock price, is that it would end up the Amazon of electric cars: the only real game in town. Killing off non-Tesla electric car infrastructure is a gift to Musk.

I know nothing about Economics and somehow I know more than Larry Kudlow.

Who wants spies who look like they could fit into other societies? What's the point of that?

Dems should be putting out ads about this rubber-meets-the-road stuff right now so the connection locks in in people's minds. Can't just assume they will follow cause and effect by 2026.

Meet Gray Squirrel in all his anxiety-ridden glory! This book was inspired by Sarah Silverman’s bit about how squirrels can’t find most of the nuts they bury. Their forgotten nuts become THE FOREST! I HAD to write a book about it & that’s how GRAY SQUIRREL LOSES IT! was born. 🔗pre-order now! #kidlit

@extremearturo.bsky.social had a piece this morning on the parallels between DOGE austerity and Milei's program, and it's worth flagging: 1 in 8 Argentinians has fallen into poverty under Milei's policies.

This is basically the WP hand gesture thing all over again. When a bunch of “very smart media people” kept telling us it was a gag but weirdly the only people participating in that gag were white supremacists. Nobody who isn’t a Nazi wants to go around making people think they’re a Nazi.

Welcome to the Resistance, Paramount.

Half of pancreatic cancer patients in a small clinical trial responded to customized mRNA vaccines, potentially a huge step forward in treating a cancer typically regarded as an automatic death sentence. Trump/Musk are cutting cancer research and attacking vaccines. apple.news/AiYEpr6jtQFa...

"North Carolina senator Thom Tillis told people that the FBI warned him about 'credible death threats' when he was considering voting against Pete Hegseth’s nomination for defense secretary... "Tillis ultimately provided the crucial 50th vote to confirm." www.vanityfair.com/news/story/t...

Some good news for writers on deadline:

Come for the horror, stay for the subtle, hilarious shade of their quotes around the word wisdom.

The only options are extreme incompetence or it’s their own version of avoiding accountability. What kills me is presumably informed people on socials doing it without any upside.

It’s 2025 and people—even those who hate him—are still taking Trump at his word when he pleads ignorance on something rather than understanding it as a strategy to avoid ever answering.

Seriously, Europe needs to go all-in on backing Ukraine. They know better than anyone what appeasing the aggressor gets you. Stop Putin there now or fight him later at home.

If you’re gonna trust anybody to not need your gold, wouldn’t you want it to be that dragon laying on top of that mountain of gold?

These guys talking about rooting out "obvious conflicts of interest" is the definition of bad faith.

Trump and Musk teaching Americans Civics by subtraction. Would be ironic if they end up making Government more popular when people see what they’ve lost.

Just a reminder that Nazi Nerd Elon Musk long has been and still remains a proponent of the Great Replacement Theory that motivated white supremacist massacres in Pittsburgh (2018), El Paso (2019) and Buffalo (2022). www.newsweek.com/great-replac...

They are very deliberately targeting special ed. If you review what they are cutting and who they are firing, it is staffers who took special ed training. It is programs to train special ed teachers, it’s going after IEP‘s and 504s.

Seems like the type of thing an opposition party could use to flog the guy who blasted out pardons like they were confetti. www.wsj.com/us-news/law/...

i am 100% of the belief that simply forcing take-writers to answer the question "who specifically said this and why are they significant" would result in substantially fewer bad takes circulating in the world

My fear with so much focus on Elon is that Trump never gets blamed for the hiring decision. He might eventually shed Musk like a lizard does a limb and yet again escape accountability. "President Musk" probably pisses him off but it also insulates him to a degree. The buck should stop with him.

It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out. They gut the FAA. Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted. Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.

If I was flying any time soon I’d be terrified.

One of the reasons SV bros have gone all-in on feeding from the public trough is they don't make things people want anymore. They haven't for at least a decade. Crypto, NFTs, Metaverse, AI. Con after con. And nobody wants any of it.

"The Trump administration has since tried to reverse their terminations...but has reportedly struggled to reach the people that were fired after they were locked out of their federal email accounts." We need a Department of Facepalming www.bbc.com/news/article...

We are putting a lot of faith in a certain group of people making the correct connection between the FA and the FO.

The only people who should still be on Twitter are the ones who do these community notes.

There is no more fertile soil for Block Farming than reading the replies of other people.
