Yes. So you could argue that.
And frankly the US is doing its American exceptionalism (derogatory) here.

Is it that artificial? Americans pay for private premiums. And my Medicare/SS contributions are on my tax forms.
I would rather never see the money (or have to account for it later with income tax like in the U.S., since pay day won’t line up with auto drafting!)

And classify France as you like (although it is not the NHS) but employers also pay their share much like premiums are split in the U.S.
Where the employer matters is negotiating the proposed mutuelle (although I don’t know if you are locked in or not)

I know that at least at peak times in France they have tap-in at the middle door (the back is exit only in theory) and so people can use it.

Mauritius is over 1,000 miles away
They have no natural claim to the islands having been spun off in the first place.
So that’s that for morality. If they were right next door, then maybe. But as it is, no.

My neighborhood street built in 2018 is wider than the state or county road that leads to the neighborhood! Thanks to the FD.

OTOH new suburbs rotate the houses a wee bit more and they look bad by both classical and modernist standards.

Maybe I am insane but I have never seen a HAWK in a place that was, well, an urban street (even when a light was installed that is less efficient than stop signs and curb extensions…)

(But I am not sure that even without cost as a burden that Illevia can be trusted with this; they’re pretty dumb sometimes)

Lille peak definitely does and even off peak… I’m going on vibes here but I can’t imagine how it would (not) run constrained by labor costs.

Meanwhile my house (2018-2019) has two outlets ~6 feet or less apart on some walls then none on other walls in the bedrooms/non-kitchen or bathroom spaces.
So there’s no logical place to put the bed for example.

I’m happy because I just came away from yet another conversation about how X American city needs light rail. And we are so cooked.

Both are pretty bad. I’m not gonna rate them. I just want the offender dealt with.

And really Americans fuss about edge cases so as to do nothing or to do the worst thing
Meanwhile Marco, Alon, and a few others wind up in the weeds with edge cases cuz they already know how to do the big picture thing 😭

Electric multiple units (EMUs)—trains that distribute their motors rather than use a locomotive—accelerate faster and are cheaper to operate.
The MTA should be working to minimize locomotive operations—especially on already electrified tracks.

I do (this can change my attraction: sometimes a lil more, sometimes a lil less). Dunno if others do.
I’m locked on the other site and otherwise felt a lil ick listing outfits that I like (but have a fairly wide if mainstream-ish preferences)

Too bad that we won’t ever (unless Alon comes over) consider adopting something
Even though the right in particular should very much want to copy France (in large part; they’ve got flaws too) but even the anti-Iraq War conservatives are anti-French.

Also I forgot to reiterate that I have T1D! I don’t want to die young because I’m overwhelmed by something that Big Pharma has made so much better!
No one should be pressured to die like this!!

I just read something from a reddit poster with (uncontrolled) type 1 diabetes who has applied for MAiD. Here’s the thing: it can be managed and controlled going forward, even if the patient neglected to do so in the past. It’s not a death sentence!!

you said on Twitter that you’re a soft 7
this is hilarious because I know that you do not have a cartoon head but I still systemically place it on your actual photos (even when you crop out your head)
and that head is definitely 7
