But they'll eliminate the income tax and then you choose what to do with your money! 🙄

I'm typically a let people enjoy things guy, but occasionally I feel like we've swung too far in that direction.

I say this in no disparaging manner: his ability/luck to stay healthy is the most impressive thing about him. Especially earlier in his career when he really went all in on body checks. Hell he broke his leg this year and only missed 6 weeks!

It would be amazing. Sports is mostly about failure in all forms. It's amazing how they both loved up to expectations. And a nod to Malkin too.

I deleted a direct response to him saying this and I regret it. Who the f needs to fight for Wayne like his place in hockey is being questioned. What a tool. Just congrats Ovi.

Idk Mirtle other than a Toronto fanboy. But this reeks of protect Wayne at all costs.

Pre COVID I went to Niagra on the Lake in Ontario where Wayne has a winery. The smarmy atmosphere made me realize before he was on TNT how utterly terrible he was while appreciating Lemieux's avoid the spotlight persona.

Used to hate that as a pens fan. "He just stands there" now with kids moving into my late 30s I appreciate the efficient use of energy.

They mock "feelings" despite wanting the world to bend to how they feel it should work. It's why they hate science and education. When it doesn't work they won't learn. They'll double down and get angrier.

Hmmm wouldn't be related to how they talk about America as God's chosen country? No no way.
comment in response to post
Yeah and they've done a bad job finding a replacement. Not to agree with MM but the year Duck got them to .500 was a wasted opportunity to find the guy. Pickett terrible choice. They need to hit rock bottom.

Idk how anyone does it.

The real question is if he wasn't from Mars how sooner would reality have hit them.
comment in response to post
That's what makes me more sick than anything else. I'm a parent to a 3 and 1 year old. It's supposed to be how can their "American" experience be better than mine. Now it feels like how fast can we fix what's broken if we ever get the chance and what age are they when we break even.

Holy ****

People really forgot in 82 games even the worst teams have "streaks". Or if you're referencing who I think - it's intentional sensationalism.

Though serving notice this late in the season is probably not effective.
comment in response to post
Oh yeah I get that. But giving these guys a couple games as a tangible acknowledgement instead of just words and showing performance actually matters does more good than any bad from the big clubs flatline. I'm saying like 2 games no more. Just a taste and serve notice to others.
comment in response to post
He sees himself in these guys too much like Bylsma.

Yeah and not to rant. I actually understand the idea of sheltering the prospects and give them a run in the AHL playoffs. But c'mon give Koivunen a couple games and scratch Hayes. Then send him back. Wayyy overthinking this AHL development here.

Players like Accari feel way too safe, not to isolate on one player.

I get a some joy seeing that even in "victory" they are still miserable. They want to be liked by the zeitgeist and it'll never happen. It's like my Fox brain wormed relatives. They still aren't happy. My uncle still endlessly posts on Facebook about Hillary. He's successfully retired. Yet no joy.

Baiting insecure Caps fans tonight I see.

I've hit the point where this even high level accurate analysis is too much effort compared to ownership/mgmt. They're a joke. That's all the brain power I give them.

Jarry sucks. But I maintain it's a snowball effect. Defense sucks. Offense can't score. Goalie sucks. They feed into each other. Team rightfully doesn't trust their goalie so they do weird stuff, making it even harder on the goalie. Round and round it goes.

If you just casually listen to games Brown is great. If you listen enough to hear the water carrying it ruins everything. Can't stand him. Not only carries water but legitimately has vitriol for anyone who questions the org. Consume content and be grateful vibe.

Well I only like my kids. Their anything is fine. Anyone else's kid does something and I want to put them to another universe.

Just keep framing this as a class war (it truly is). Republicans have mastered finding group(s) to frame as a villain. Leverage that lizard brain us vs them mindset.

Holy hell dude inception of hot takes

Easy guy to root for

I hate loved watching Datsyuk in the 08 and 09 finals. I'm secure enough as a pens fan to admit if he was healthy the 09 series probably goes the other way.
comment in response to post
Yeah it's the one downside to the over coached, systematic modern game with no two line pass. Where are the Kovalevs? It's all straight line forcheck sprints. It's hard to differentiate players now. Now you only stand out on speed. There's less cool playstyle identity.
comment in response to post
I feel like after 16, 17 and 18 MOST of both fan bases started appreciating the other star, but there is still this insecure complex with Wash fans I don't see with Pens fans. It's probably the cup win difference.

I actually think it's great they are both so great in distinct ways. If the NHL wasn't incompetent they would have marketed that better. Today I find McDavid and MacKinnon to be too similar in style.

My only problem with it as someone who can't devote large chunks of time at it in one sitting: the first hour+ is riddles with tutorial menus that are overwhelming. I get to the character's apartment and multiple things pop up explaining to me all these home features. A bit of input overload.

I'm working on an internal ai code review tool for my company. One of the reasons it's being okayish received is when I present I say it's not perfect, but we think it provides enough value because x. Nobody is being honest about the artificial in AI. To say nothing of slapping it everywhere

Good one. That character is so bizarre I could also see it the other way as well: he's actually getting extra doses of things like everyone joked about during COVID. (Jerry, you just got the flu shot once? Are you trying to get yourself killed?)

Awesome! Diet so far for me. Just started adding in exercise slowly. Lost 13lbs Jan to Jan. Getting diagnosed with gout where big trigger foods are red meat and beer kinda helped.

Unfortunately America first / deport illegals was translated to helping the little guys. Dems better be ready to campaign on Musk taking care of himself and the rich. Turn this into a class war. It resonates well. Leverage that lizard brain us vs. them.

He's what I was hoping PO would become (obviously early days).

Yeah I didn't want the Kessel trade to amount to a salary dump... Sucks.

The 16,17, and 18 quasi cup finals created this unexpected respect between the fan bases in terms of celebrating greatness. I think they'd cheer. Plus I think most Pittsburghers would like to see Gretzky eat shit.
comment in response to post
He wants to be like Spittin Chiclets so bad.
comment in response to post
Oh yeah I'm afraid from his last interview about shifting away from asset collection...
comment in response to post
The only thing I'm concerned about was him saying after the deadline that there will be a shift away from asset collection. I think that's a year two early. I'm afraid he's going to make Graves like mistakes again.
comment in response to post
But I think this off-season will tell a lot with so much cap space and assets. Was year 1 just kinda of a short time after hire no staff whiffs or a major red flag.
comment in response to post
The Jarry contract I've heard whispers Sullivan really went to bat for him. So I can at least see how it went down like that. Graves who/what/when/where/why was the contract done? Nieto is at least wasn't a big ticket just why two years. At least Dubas hasn't made a Graves like error since.
comment in response to post
I've been thinking that too and it is low-stakes for the team, but not for his NHL future. So IDK he just doesn't make sense.
comment in response to post
Makes sense. Stakes are low now.
