So it’s a bit different. Every country in Europe has its own top league of 10-20 clubs, each club plays each other home and away. And then the clubs that win those leagues are the champions of that country, and qualify to play in the European competitions, along with 2nd-7th as I said before.

The 3rd team, who won the “lowest” competition, just gets the bask in their glory of winning a competition. This 3rd competition is only a couple of years old, whereas the first two are much older (60-70 years).

So there are 3 European champions each season, with the best two (the Champions League and the Europa League) winners playing each other for European Supercup at the start of the following season. But this Supercup isn’t as important as winning the CL/EL, as it’s just a one-off game. Easy 😅

That’s okay, happy to educate anyone who wants to get into football (soccer). Club sides across Europe do play each other in 3 separate competitions (depending on the quality of the clubs, e.g. 1-4 best in England play 1-4 in Spain, Germany, France, etc). Then 5-6 and 7-8 do the same.

And the Italiana part is added because it’s the Supercup that Italian club sides play. Spain, England, Germany, France, Portugal etc all have the same. It’s traditionally the league winners vs the Cup winners.

I get that you might not know, but this is a club trophy involving club sides from Italy, with players from all around the world. A quick google of who AC Milan and Inter are would’ve told you this without the need to say something which came across a bit racist, which I’m sure wasn’t your intention
