Today is World Press Freedom Day Reporters Without Borders have published the 2025 World Press Freedom Index. rsf.org/en/rsf-world... Among other stark conclusions, the Index finds that in 2025, less than 1% of the world's population lives in a country where press freedom is fully guaranteed.

When I was in college, I seriously considered going to work for the Voice of America because I admired its mission to show the world how journalists in a free society were allowed to tell truths that other governments denied. Thanks to President Trump, that voice has now been silenced.
