It's crazy how big a difference knobs make on hardware. I swapped out my plastic MPC knobs for heavy knurled aluminum ones and the tactile feel is so nice. Been debating getting new knobs for all my synths next

I'm surprised we haven't seen reports of drone-bombing those things with laundry bleach pods...

It's probably that silly "Doom as a video clip" AI model from last summer that makes it look like you are playing Doom but there's no actual logic... which is a neat parlor trick, but it's a terrible fake experience. But that's all AI really is anyways.

Knowledge isn't wisdom though. And distilling down the years of training, experience, reflection, struggle, and growth that human beings endured to become proficient at a skill into an algorithm that half-asses the results diminishes those accomplishments.

That is awesome! I've got some old rack audio equipment from the 80s. Been debating if I should try to recap them. One of them has started to have a buzzy whine. Been nervous to open and take a look at the insides. 😅

Just started buying records last year, saw some RSD 2025 titles I would love. What is it typically like at the store? Wait in line and get first pick that is still available? Or do people go crazy and buy up a bunch and if you aren't first in line you miss out?

Privatize everything, destroy the middle class, force people into servitude work to survive , use America's resources to put rich white people on Mars, and leave behind the burning dead husk of a planet for everyone else to fight over...

Well, I know what I am lifting to tonight. Any playlist with Sierra in it is an instant listen to. :D

The one negative event we had was at a local bar restaurant. We tried to host our monthly meetup there, asked weeks in advance if we could use their party room for our monthly meeting. They said Yes, never said they were going to charge us $400 at the end of it

Or you partner with a local business to bring in traffic for events if they have space. I used to organize a game dev group here and we would host lectures, workshops, and hackathons / game jams in spaces provided by entrepreneur / startup incubators. The drive wasn't to sell liquor, but promote

The home thing might be interesting because I think that since they use the space as a business expense it cane become a tax write off. And it helps promote their local community, and people attend because they never know who might show up.

Throwing an idea out... Here in Cleveland, Ohio we have a pop-up stand up comedy event. They are very well organized, have local talent with occasional big names stopping in while passing through or working on new material. They host events in homes & businesses. secretsocietycomedy.com

Oh man... I hadn't thought about The Omega Man in years. That was one of my Dad's favorite movies. I remember the weekend we watched that and The Road Warrior back to back for the first time.

I really need to make time and watch this and the Alien 3 Assembly Cut. Was it the Johnny Mnenomic Reloaded Extended fan edit on Archive for org?

It's great... but anyone I tried to put in front of it as a first DAW felt overwhelmed. :)

I love Bitwig, it's incredibly versatile, but it can be a bit difficult for new producers to get started with. I'd personally recommend FL Studio as a good starting point. One other idea, Splice has a RentToOwn option for Bitwig. Can cancel / pause payment any time if you want to just try it first.

Saw that tour a couple of years ago. Was absolutely one of the best concerts I ever attended.

I wish I could dream like this more often. The details and richness of what my senses perceived was crazy, the scenario completely unique. Is this what everyone else's dreams are like? Or was my brain clearing out old junk data, giving me a last chance to keep what I needed in a weird cathartic dump
