I know so many Catholic and Protestant men who have been duped into thinking Peterson was (a) a Christian and (b) some sort biblical theologian when in reality he’s a fruit-loopy agnostic, washed up Jungian psychologist who almost died from eating only red meat.

Some years ago I was at Powell’s World Of Books in the Bible aisle and a perplexed young bloke asked me if I knew anything about the Bible. I admitted that I did. He said he was not prepared for the range of options he encountered. I only laughed inside. I asked what he was looking for. 1/3

Imagine an ICE raid where a confused home occupant fires on and kills an ICE agent Now imagine what an amdin that’s already sending men to a foreign gulag and stripping people of their visas over their speech might do. What would Trump, Miller, Bondi, Homan do next? www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

The Oklahoma City immigration raid last week is a bright warning light. At some point, someone is going to be shot and maybe even killed in one of these raids. And I think we need to prime our imaginations for what could come if that happens. Read me at @msnbc.com www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

Literally this:

When the worst man you know makes a fair point...

can someone please watch this and check to see if he cries

Jordan Peterson goes on a shrill rant about the Canadian election and calls Canada-his home state- a "ratty little backwards country" anyways. And they wonder why their narratives lost youtu.be/2I3HSr20Y0o?...

Are Liberalism and Socialism really like oil and water? Political scientist Matt McManus challenges that idea in The Political Theory of Liberal Socialism, arguing the gap isn't as wide as it seems. 🎧 parallaxviews.podbean.com/e/mmcmanus5-...

"If the American right’s new adventures in Revolutionary Conservatism can teach us anything, it’s that we need to offer those who might be seduced by unreason a more affirming, ambitious creed." Good @mattpolprof.bsky.social overview of how today's right evolved www.illiberalism.org/the-conserva...

My interview on liberal socialism

The U.S. left is quiet post-Trump; Britain’s is pragmatic but visionless. Matt McManus says it’s time for liberal socialism, a defence of liberal norms and a radical rethink of the workplace. Workers deserve more. Read here:

Thanks Paul

This is kind of a who's who of the intellectual forebears of the political right. But it is the end that is really evocative. Making liberalism affirming, ambitious, and sexy again.

Shit weather but good May Day turn out for @detroitdsa.bsky.social

Even Gabbard looks embarrassed to be there

it's not new; this is just the type of behavior that a healthy dose of schoolyard social feedback (aka bullying) should have corrected but didn't because he went to a ritzy apartheid academy.

A lot of people who've analyzed postmodern culture stress how form takes absolute precedent over content. Nowhere is that clearer than using the sound of Rage Against the Machine to rage for the machine

Douthat's fawning interview with a Nazi is a good reminder that we need to support actual opposition media right now. Consider @liberalcurrents.com www.liberalcurrents.com/we-must-defe...

This doesn't become so cringe it passes back into being funny. In a strange way Musk seems to discovered or invented a new kind of cringe.
