Eric Adams is a self-serving buffoon who was given the opportunity to raise New York City out of its post-pandemic despair and instead chose to close libraries, line his own pockets, and posture like some summer stock Mussolini. He couldn't govern a mah jong tourney.

If you live in NYC and would like to see Eric Adams removed from office for violating the law, here is Governor Kathy Hochul's phone number: (518) 474-8390.

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

This is where you go to tell the National Park Service to restore the word "transgender" in its entry on the Stonewall monument. (Scroll down.)

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million. How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65 Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

I think of this short story as the fictional fraternal twin to my "Taking T for Jesus" essay published in The Baffler last fall.

As opponents of US President Donald Trump's rapid-fire executive actions turn to the courts, at least eight of the largest corporate law firms in the country have signed on to represent plaintiffs leading the fight in the past two weeks reut.rs/3CXw9EQ

New Yorkers: tomorrow is the last day to register to vote in this year's mayoral primary — don’t count on others to get rid of the corrupt & compromised collaborator Eric Adams, who's mayor because 79% of eligible NYers failed to turn out last time. Do your part, dammit: vote.nyc/page/registe...

Doesn’t sound like a disclosure then does it

Pretty rich that Kara Swisher has rebranded as an expert on Elon Musk's immaturity and untrustworthiness after being his apologist lapdog for years.

What needs to be said, and why we need to divest our eyeballs from their media.

✈️ Tour info for The Dream Hotel! Save the date if you live in DC, Boston, Austin, New York, Tulsa, Palo Alto, L.A., Seattle, Albany, Middletown, San Antonio, and Gainesville! I’d love to talk to you about fiction, dreams, and surveillance technology, and also sign your books!

As a New Yorker, my gut response to the Mayor's vow nearly takes cursing to the level of speaking in tongues. Kick this crook to the curb.

It’s pub day and I have @queerty.com to thank for this beautiful headline and for featuring an excerpt of Alligator Tears on their site! Instead of a single chapter, they selected passages from throughout the book to capture the breadth of the story. ❤️🐊🥲 www.queerty.com/edgar-gomez-...

The federal courts are attempting to uphold our increasingly fragile and attenuated rule of law. If the Trump administration defies the courts, the constitution becomes meaningless. Whatever their party, please call your reps and ask them to insist on the rule of law.

"We call upon our elected representatives to stand with us and to insist upon adherence to the rule of law... We urge every attorney to join us and insist that our government, a government of the people, follow the law..." The American Bar Association briefly outlines the stakes:

The American Bar Association has just called upon every attorney, regardless of their political views, to join them & stand up for the rule of law & at minimum insist that our government "follow the law." Every lawyer has an ethical responsibility to do so. www.americanbar.org/news/abanews...

New from 404 Media: Employees working at DOGE have been ordered to stop using Slack while government lawyers attempt to transition the agency to one that is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Means DOGE will be even more secretive and unaccountable www.404media.co/doge-employe...

Trump, Vance, and Musk have all signaled an intention to ignore court rulings against them. It's a good day to call your reps and tell them that you are counting on them to protect the rule of law. And it's a good day to decide how you'll react if they do (continue to?) ignore court rulings.

This is my greatest concern. If the administration were to ignore court rulings that did not rubber stamp its actions, who would enforce the rulings? Certainly not DoD head Pete Hegseth.

I realize it can be tempting to dismiss the threat if you grew up secular, but many if not most agencies will be headed up by Christian nationalists. Our Supreme Court is extremely right-wing. Republicans control both houses of Congress. Christian fervor is like a fire—tough to put out.

Project 2025 seeks to dismantle the separation of church and state, portrays the Bible as the foundation of our law and calls for "a biblically based, social science–reinforced definition of marriage and family." This is in motion now. Please urge your reps to fight this order signed two days ago.

Trump shut down the entire refugee resettlement system. Except for white Afrikaners, apparently www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Too bad this didn't happen last week, but better late than never.

35+ Dems plan to hold the Senate floor all night to oppose the confirmation of Musk-Trump funding freeze architect Russ Vought. THIS is how we fight back while in the minority. (via @schatz.bsky.social)

The fact that this good common sense is an outlier position in the Senate amazes me, though I know it should not. If our electoral system survives this, I cannot WAIT to vote against Schumer and Gillibrand in the next primary.

In this administration, we can be sure the billionaires will "police their own conflicts of interest" by making sure they don't miss a single chance to enrich themselves.

You don't have to scroll anymore to get your full serving of doom.

NEWS: Sources tell me that DOGE is setting its sights on the Department of Labor next. DOL workers have been ordered to give DOGE access to whatever they ask for—or risk termination. “We’re supposed to stop everything we’re doing and do whatever the DOGE kids ask… It feels dirty and illegal.”
