To the extent the “You’re overreacting” stuff isn’t a) just reflexive anti-“alarmism” that some people have built their entire identity around or b) a function of people being (willfully) ignorant, it’s often a coping mechanism: Easier to cling to normalcy bias than to grapple with an acute crisis.

Man, this is cool. I’ve long said that the best sources for constructimg a solid history of the early beer “revolution” are the regional and specialized publications like this one. They were very ephemeral, however, and they’d be hard to find. AB had many in its libraries.

A very cool thing about Kindle/e-readers I never see stressed is that they're fantastic for reading books in languages you're not 100% fluent in. You can just tap an unfamiliar word for the translation, making it totally feasible to tackle books that would otherwise be huge slog.
