I love this so much. I have no idea how it got on my phone or who made it.

I don’t know these homeowners, but I know we could be friends. 😊 #dogsofBlueSky

Europeans should not feel rejected by (all) British people. If they believe a majority voted for Brexit they may feel uncomfortable walking down a British high street. But the odds are for every 26 people you pass who did, 74 didn’t.

It is entirely possible that they are doing just that behind closed doors.

Two weeks? Surely it can't take the Kremlin that long to get his instructions through to him...? #Trump www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c9...

Brexit. 61% of us think it’s a failure. But there’s no majority consensus to go back. Honest to god. So much time, energy, cost… So much lost… So much hassle… So soul-destroyingly pointless. So endlessly tedious. But we’re stuck with it because facing up to this now is too damned hard.

Britain must stay out of this insane war. We should provide no assistance whatsoever to the US or Israel, in any form. inews.co.uk/opinion/brit...

It's a start, certainly, and credit to the government for that. But so long as water companies remain vehicles for translating excessive consumer bills into vast shareholder dividends and executive salaries, there remains some way to go.. #RenationaliseWater www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/nationa...

What Eisenhower said over 70 years ago is even more true today.

The excruciating HS2 farce sums up what happens when you vote for unserious people - who bang on brainlessly about sovereignty and control - but aren’t up to the hard yards of actually governing and taking responsibility. Years of unrelenting uselessness. liveapp.inews.co.uk/category/375...

Farage and the far right in general come from a grievance culture. If you do what they want, even maximally – Brexit – they’ll move the goalposts and keep moaning. If you engage seriously with their concerns, they’ll find new ones. You will never satisfy them, because they don’t want to be satisfied

HS2 total disaster Millions spent ???

#JeremyVine Keir Starmer is the most unpopular because our media have performed a character assassination on him The fact that he's apparently less popular than that 50-day fuckwit, Liz Truss, says a lot about the power of propaganda

Millet’s The Gleaners (1857) depicts impoverished rural women collecting stray bits of crops left over after harvesting. Criticised at the time for its subject matter (“working class/ugly/gross”) & its large size! (previously reserved for “noble” topics) artinsociety.com/millet-and-t...

The BBC has many journalists with a deep understanding of the Middle East but insist on using the woeful Chris Mason to interview Starmer using his usual gotcha type questioning.

Heartbreaking 💔

Johnson refusing enquiries on child abuse

1. The Tories knighted Kier Starmer for his work as Head of CPS in prosecuting grooming gangs. 2. Tories had 14 years to instigate an inquiry. 3. Starmer had instigated a rapid review AND instigated an inquiry in 10 months. 4. Grooming gangs are all Kier Starmer’s fault says Badenoch. 5. FFS.

The majority of Brits, I’m sure, have very little understanding of exactly how Brexit has affected EU citizens or other Brits for that matter. And that means politicians too, of course.

"i asked grok" "i asked chagpt" yeah well I asked a rare books librarian and they found things I didn’t even know I was looking for, while answering questions about provenance

Old photo: the innocent-looking portion of the River Wharfe on the Bolton Abbey estate, known as The Strid, is actually one of the most dangerous stretches of water in the world. For those unfortunate enough to enter the river here, it is a certain killer.

Bet this won’t be headlined in the sun, Express n Mail

Repost if you think Brexit it is one of the worst political decisions Britain has ever made. #ExitBrexit

Climate warming .. creating misery and a growing underclass of disposed people who, in the long tail of consequences from climatic disasters, may never fully recover When do Australians actually realise that climate change is an existential disaster that is already dominating our world?

A comparison to demonstrate how I retrieve weak colour information from a faded autochrome: I never paint on new colour to digitally colourise a photo, I only ever work with & boost the colour information in the original plate. This photo shows WWI French war graves at Laffaux on Moday 14th May 1917

They should have told him they were still filming and that it was all being done with hidden cameras and left him to it

Mel Stride, "We wouldn't have talked down the economy and damaged growth" Robert Peston, "Hang on.. You had close to zero living standards growth for the 14 years you were in power.. Labour inherited a stagnant economy, that was your fault"

If Brexity folks start crying crocodile tears about the people of Gibraltar, note that a) the Gibraltar first minister supports this deal b) Brexity people sure as hell didn't care how Gibraltar voted in the 2016 Brexit referendum

Moonblush Tomatoes are #RecipeOfTheDay! An excellent investment in your everyday eating life, and you just pop these in a hot oven, turn it off immediately, and let them cook till intense and flavoursome in the residual heat. www.nigella.com/recipes/moon...

Seriously, this is what the country is dealing with right now.

This is from Reeves. No wonder the elite are hopping. They’re having to pay us more: “Real wages have grown more in the first ten months of this Labour Government than in the first ten years of Tory rule”. What’s not to like?
