I’ll just have to watch this on repeat for 3 hours instead of watching the movie.

Stop calling them live action remakes and call them DTIYS movies instead

That’s fine if you think that. It’s not going to be funny to everyone. I was just confused what you were interpreting as schadenfreude but I understand now so it’s all good

Like I agree that saying I love it when men cry sounds spiteful, because that’s the joke

Yeah so the joke is that I have a coherent thought but what comes out is instead “I love it when men cry” which is funny (to some) because it is not in fact what I mean. Like I’m laughing at myself. Fwiw this wasn’t bait and I’m not being defensive I’m just genuinely confused what you’re seeing here

Wait I’m more confused now. Do you not understand the meme format? What exactly do you mean by prefacing it with something that appears spiteful

Wait until you find out about soap operas, you’re going to lose your mind.

I made this meme after watching Lego Batman, if that helps

I’m not saying you’re wrong about schadenfreude fwiw, just that’s it’s not really relevant here.

The point of this meme was that I’m bad at explaining that and I watch a lot of shows with that so it seems like I enjoy it just when men cry but I do not, I enjoy the character growth. And again these are fictional characters not real people.

I think you’re lost, but it’s not schadenfreude to enjoy media about fictional characters experiencing growth in a way you relate to. I find it especially cathartic with men who were told they shouldn’t express their emotions as I was also raised this way.
