Our final VEX robotics tournament in Thailand of the 2024-25 season. We won the excellence award, were tournament champions and won the sportsmanship award. A great end to an amazing season. Onto the world championships in Texas! #Robotics #stem #STEMeducation

How might you build a security robot? I’ve asked my HS Robotics 2 students to create a sentry bot that can patrol and area autonomously and driver controlled. I asked that it have a ‘threat response.’ One group took that idea and ran with it! #robots #stem #education

A great weekend for ISBangkok HS robotics program at the Thailand national tournament. Our teams won the tournament, skills, and sportsmanship awards. So proud of everyone and all their hard work. Onto Worlds in Texas. We’ll see you in May! #robotics #stem #education

Hi friends, I've got a website, with some videos and whatnot for my teaching, if you're into that sort of thing. Feel free to check it out. I haven't found a way to fit the URL into my profile here yet. sites.google.com/isb.ac.th/mi...

It's Saturday a week before our VEX Robotics National Championship. I told the kids I'd be here from 11-4 if they want to work. There were 3 teams there waiting for me, and now there's a ton of kids here working. A parent offered to get the kids pizza. It's a great vibe. #robotics #vex #stem

I had my HS design students “roughly sketch a 3D building or structure.” Then I randomly distributed their sketches and asked them try and build the design with LEGOs. Then talk to the designer about how they brought their vision to life. Some cool results. #stem #design #education

Sorry education friends, I haven’t been posting much here, as we are on winter break. However, the good news is this week we had a visit with Moo Deng and she was glorious. #moodeng #vacation

It was a great weekend VEX tournament for my HS VEX robotics teams. We won the tournament, the skills challenge, and the excellence award. That’s a nice Saturday. #robotics #robots #vex #stem

A HS student’s Medbot, delivering medication to different rooms in a hospital mock up. Almost there. It’s speedy but not too precise. Yet. #robots #stem #education

Another fantastic color sorting robot from one of my middle schoolers. The use of multiple motors and moving parts is great. It’s not working perfectly yet, but it’s almost there. #robots #stem #design

A pretty amazing color sorting robot from one of my middle schoolers. The challenge was to sort 4 colors in distinct locations. #robotics #stem #lego

How might you build a robot that can sort 4 different colors into 4 unique areas? A challenge for my MS robotics students. We used LEGO Spike Primes for this challenge. #robotics #stem #LEGO

This weekend I’m at St. Andrews in Bangkok, helping MC a VEX signature event! #robots #vex #stem

Throwback to one of my favorite engineering projects to do with middle schoolers. Make a cardboard chair that can support a student. Bonus if it can support me. #engineering #design #makerspace #STEM

I gave my HS Robotics students a challenge. Build a small and maneuverable robot to deliver medicine to patients. This group clearly succeeded. #robotics #stem #design

This weekend I took 22 kids and 5 robots to Singapore American School. There was a lot of fierce competition, but we held our own. This is my 14th season doing VEX robotics with HS students. It's such a great time. #robotics #VEX #edusky

I’m trying to post here more. Here’s a recent video of my robotics students creating a robot to solve a maze with a distance sensor.

Thailand VEX robotics nationals! Here we go! 6 teams that have been building and testing their robots since August (April in some cases). Now let’s see how we do against the rest of Thailand.

The Thailand VEX national tournament is this weekend. I think we are almost ready!

Spent the week with 7th graders in Kui Buri national park working to help support farmers and wild elephants. Next weekend is VEX robotics nationals. Never a dull moment.

Some recent modular design builds and VEX robots by my students. Enjoy.

We brought 6 VEX robotics teams to a 33 team tournament. We placed 1st through 6th. So proud of my students.

Hi everyone. Nice to see you all here. Here’s some of the awesome movable toys my middle schoolers have been building.
