Repost with the first album you bought with your own money.

ah I'm sad to hear this. I worked on a couple of Denzil's books and he was a copy editor's dream. Professional, unprecious and warm 💛

Nothing in the history of entertainment has ever bettered singing Mule Train whilst bashing yourself over the head with a tin tray. Nothing

there used to be a time when a teen on a bicycle would heave the news into your driveway in the morning and then that was all the news you got for the day in many ways this was a perfect system

Looking through old photos for a family thing and, wow, I was VERY hard to impress as a baby. Balloons, puppies, xmas crackers, dollies, cakes - face like a wet weekend the whole time.

Collected a dvd from HMV 📀 Bought hot water bottles from John lewis 🥵💧🍼 And sweeties from Hotel Chocolat 🍫 Paid ✨cash✨ into the bank This morning was all bricks, no clicks 😇

oh the L Word reboot

Lloyd Munro on Crossroads has got to be the worst psychiatrist in TV history. We've only seen him treat two people, the first one ended up dead, the second one ended up shooting her ex-husband with a gun and bullets Lloyd had left lying around in his living room.

listening to a bit of Ella and the lyrics to My Funny Valentine would really get you a punch in the puss irl

After 11 years, my time at HuffPost is coming to an end tomorrow. Last week, I learned HuffPost would be ending its dedicated coverage of energy and climate change. So, I took a buyout.

So lovely today

And now it's a bonnie day and I'm away for a walk!

I've been trying really hard not to doom scroll, which is why I've been a bit quiet on here. A few accounts are making me feel a bit better. Thanks especially to @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social 💛 And just... Solidarity to everyone in the US who isn't ok with nazis etc.

Recording update... So we've got two versions of the single 'Song of Dawn' in the pipeline - one that uses a bit of Tusk by Fleetwood Mac and one that doesn't. Am talking to Lindsey's publisher so fingers crossed they say yes, and that we can afford it 🤞 Gareth's trumpet sounds BRILLIANT on it.

Indigo Girls singing 'Closer to Fine' was beautiful last night. 'Darkness has a hunger that's insatiable / And lightness has a call that's hard to hear'... Amazing lineup of women! Amy & Emily, Cathy Jordan, Julie Fowlis, Eddi Reader and Moya Brennan... 💚 #indigogirls

Cold. Crisp. Beautiful day.

Is Ever Decreasing Circles good? I've never watched it and I'm becoming a big fan of buying old tv box sets. HMV have the whole thing for £12.99

Well, I suppose I'd better go and try and record some guitar again. Last night I really thought I had it until I was listening back on headphones and could hear what I thought was a weird overtone that turned out to be ME, humming while I was strumming.

Chapter 20 of Middlemarch has some of my favorite passages of all time. It’s a masterpiece within a masterpiece. Here is a quote that changed me as a person.

If you see this post a gif from one of your comfort shows

The word "iconic" is thrown around so cheaply these days, but somehow it suited Marianne Faithfull like a bespoke designer outfit from the King's Road. Beautiful and incredibly talented and full of presence. What a woman. RIP, queen.

Right, I've given up on trying to record any guitar today. Got the strumming version of staring at a word until you're sure it is not and never has been spelled like that. Could only hear the off beat.

behold my tiny oranges! I got this plant as a retirement prez and amazingly it's not dead. Apparently you can eat these? Can't be any harder than the usual easy peeling nightmare, i spose

Some good news ☺️
