ha, thank you. I used to live in Kinross,a small village in Fife, and for some reason the newsagent's had it in the window (IN THE WINDOW) so I bought it bc I thought the girl looked pretty. About a month later Debbie was on totp singing Denis and all my pals went crazy for her and I felt very smug

i'm logged out of AO3 atm but i just wanted to say THANK YOU for this. It's very sweet and you know B&T so well. Really lovely little vignette of them. And 💯💯💯 for the WC poem.

Both outstanding. I was doing a lot of listening to Abba Gold in the car recently and have come to adore Lay All Your Love On Me. Usually I'm 'we do not talk about Abba's disco era' but now the harmonies in the chorus give me shivers.

I go back and forth on whether I would rather it was sudden or slow. Sudden has more potential for embarrassment, which is often my main preoccupation.

I know, but you sometimes get authors being a bit defensive. And I always laugh when someone says they could never be a writer because they can't spell. I'm like, 'Well, if you can tell a good story someone else can take care of the spelling.'

Thank you! I worked as a copy editor for 30+ years and sometimes see authors take to social media to moan about their work being copy edited; rarely do they highlight the positives.

yeh, me too until i went back in-house about 10 yrs ago and had to learn that 'blurb' means a quote endorsing the book. The other half of this fun revision was that the blurb was now referred to as 'jacket copy'. All a bit odd.

They also disfigure so many gorgeous cover designs. Put them on the back!

10/10 ... this was the first single i ever bought! it got destroyed when a wall-mounted speaker parted company with the wall above the turntable when it was playing, but i sellotaped it together on the b-side and kept playing it
