I've spent the weekend arguing with an in-law who is * generally pro-what-trump-is-doing * not a full throated trump supporter * veteran, blue-collar about specific policies. tl;dr - some points I've made hit home, but making the point that oligarchs aren't looking out for you is surprisingly hard.

One of my party facts is that according to polls, Americans believe foreign aid is about 25% of the federal budget and on average that it *should* be about 10%. The actual number is less than 1%. Foreign aid has long been a boogey man of the right, so it's not surprising they're vilifying it now.

Mulling over the encounter last night where I had to leap into a yard to avoid being hit by middle schoolers riding bikes at high speed on a sidewalk: cyclists on sidewalks irritate me deeply, but not as much as the car infrastructure that pushes them to ride on sidewalks.
