Yes, expecting a corrupt organization like FIFA, to be turned off by corruption, is a bit of a pipe dream.
FIFA will only be upset if it loses money - which is what it is looking like will happen.

The bigger issue is the trade deal itself. Keeps tariffs and is just pandering to trump.
It further isolates UK from EU at a time when everyone else can see US as toxic. Starmer is enabling and empowering the toxic US president and his cult.

Airbnb has contributed greatly to housing crisis everywhere. They ignore the laws & allow their hosts to ignore laws.
So it makes sense that one of the most corrupt organizations in the world, FIFA, would partner with them. And with US targeting minorities, it's going to be a gong show.

Russia was kicked out of G8 IN 2014 - after illegally invading Crimea - Harper, a Conservative, was PM at the time

The white supremacist who show up as a herd of bullies but too cowardly to show their faces & be accountable for their actions. They dont want to tarnish their reputations with their deep racism, hatred, misogyny
Has trump called then out yet for masking? (jk, they are his type of people!)

Facts only matter to people who believe in the rule of law.
For wannabe dictators and fascists, getting people to believe or accept your message, despite how untrue or absurd, is infinitely more important than truth.
Dems need to better understand who/what they are fighting against.
comment in response to

Problem is that Dems have been doing this but lying, bullying has won out.
All J6ers were pardoned and it boggles the mind that that event could in anyway be considered peaceful. People died and were hospitalized, but that is what the dialogue has become.
Their violence will be justified, always.

Plus if the weather was horrible, he would have said many millions more would have come.
I appreciate he will lie anyway, but this one is low hanging fruit.

Protests are important but can't be everything.
FL and Texas already called in national guard to control this protest, bf it even started. What will they do next time? Wannabe dictators and fascists will do dictator and fascist things. The rule of law has become unimportant to them.

I'm assuming since his hit list was targeted and political that his murder and attempted murder charges will also have terrorism related charges.
I mean, if someone assassinated a health care CEO and faced terrorism charges, this should be a no Brainer.

It's really unbelievable the lying that the gop and trump are doing. They are not even trying - their lies are so easy to disprove and they don't care bc magats eat them up anyway.
But the man was an evangelical Christian, with a hit list of democrats or abortion doctors, admitted voting for Trump.

Death in war is always undesirable. But why is the death of Israelis reported so much, but little on Palestinians and Iranians?
Israel had every right to retaliate against Hamas, but Israel has moved far beyond that, now committing war crimes. Israel is also the aggressor in the Iranian conflict.

The feds need to Crack down on all of the provinces not following the Canada Health Act. This creeping of private services needs to end.
And I'm talking of AB, ON, and QC.

Generally, when people have any problems, you don't need people's useless advice.
When you share problems with non medical people, you are looking for support, comfort - not advice on s topic they know nothing about.

How do you know their ICE. Jeans and t-shirt part of uniform now. They walk with all that protection like they've never worn it before.
They are simply thugs.

Isn't Israel attacking Iran an act of aggression? We pray for the aggressors now?
I guess Graham is one tweet away from praying for the Russians.

Well only 20% of eligible ON voters actually voted for Ford. 2.1M voted for him. 2.8M voted for other parties. 6M didn't bother to vote.
But somehow, Ford and media believe he has a strong mandate to government bc he ended up with a huge majority, with 42% of pop vote.
We need preferential ballots

It doesn't matter that they filmed her or they were sending her texts coaxing her not to go to the police or that they set up a group chat about how to handle it. They knew they were wrong.
They'll be considered otherwise good guys, except for this one time. And that will be enough to get them off

LA protest were to protect against govt overreach & stand for the rule of law -which ICE is ignoring
J8 was literally about overthrowing the govt. 7 people died, 170+ police officers were wounded
0 deaths in LA & the few injuries were caused by police shooting rubber bullets at peaceful protestors

Also avoid purchasing American products. Trump only responds to money, and until the economy really tanks, to the point his magats are hurting, will he change his approach.

I keep watching from afar wondering at what point the gop will finally say enough is enough. I'd assumed the line in the sand was obvious, but it has been crossed so many times, I'm wondering if it even exists.
Trump has committed at least a dozen impeachable offences, but nothing happens.

These guys really do believe they have dictatorial powers. But then why wouldn't they? The supposed party of law & order & protecting freedom has done nothing to reign in their leader. Nothing
And as long as they are in the inner circle, benefitting from his policies, they will continue to support.

How about arresting the owners of Home Depot who seem to be employing a whole lot of these "illegal" immigrants?
Not arresting the owners of Home depot, but arresting the employees is akin to arresting those that are victims of human trafficking but not arresting the humans who trafficked?

Can the media please stop covering his fake conferences. He is not only an unelected person - he was actually not re-elected in the riding he held for 20 years - by a lot.
He is literally, by definition, a loser - he lost, his party lost. It's time for him to go.
comment in response to

How many of these unidentifiable ICE agents (jeans, t-shirts, ball caps, no ID) are actually human traffickers picking up people which no one is noticing in the chaos?

Worst part.. his magats still believe everything he says. I swear they must be sharing a single brain cell amongst them at this point.

Thwir vote share & seat count may have increased, but so did the liberals. In fact liberals are closer to a majority now than they were in the last election.
Not sure how he has managed to spin losing a 25pt lead & losing his own seat into a victory
As long as Cons keep him, they will keep losing
comment in response to

Too long - he is costing us millions for an unnecessary bi election, thousands for stornaway thar he refuses to move out of. And if the Cons turf him, the weasel will finally resign-but that will trigger another bi election worth millions.
Stop letting PP speak like he cares about taxpayer money.
comment in response to
post
I love when millionaires try to pretend they have anything in common with the middle or working class.
PP is a man who was literally fired from his job but refuses to leave his taxpayer funded house - actually breaking the law. These millionaires also don't think the laws apply to them.
comment in response to
post
While Byrne is despicable, it's too easy to blame her for all that went on.
By all accounts, PP is a dick. She was not running to be elected, he was. And he lost his own riding, badly. He did that all on his own.
comment in response to
post
He can't help but be a dick. He is so despicable.
If the Cons keep him as leader they will continue to lose. This should have been their election to win. They had a 25pt lead. But in a crisis, PP showed he could do nothing more than recite divisive 3 word slogans.
The people don't like him.

From the guy that got sounded booted from his own riding... and blew a 25pt lead.
The man had been calling himself the prime minister in waiting for months
comment in response to

It must be lucrative. Usually a leader that loses the election, and their own seat, leaves. Not sure what a leader who blew a 25pt lead would do - because that has never happened - but my guess and they would leave too!

Are all of these ICE agents actually law enforcement? They are wearing jeans, t-shirts, masks, no badges, no IDs.

Why are there so many ICE agents in jeans and t-shirts... it just doesn't seem official.

How come when ICE raids businesses where apparently illegal immigrants are working, they arrest only the immigrants.... not the owners of the businesses which hired the apparently illegal workers?
comment in response to

Yup, while trump increased tariffs on steel to 50%. Instead of being supportive of the rest of the country with this little measure, that literally costs AB no money, they are back to supporting US.
comment in response to

He is the most costly of losing politicians
1) living in a taxpayer funded mansion he has no legal right to be in
2) forcing a $2M by-election bc voters in own riding dont like him
3) if Cons decide to turf him, he will then quit and there will be another $2M by-election.
4) he also expenses a lot
comment in response to
post
Pressure should be mounting for him and him alone to go. You know he will toss Byrne to save himself - I think he'd toss his own kids to save himself - that is who he is.
Cdns were clear they don't like him. People voted specifically to deny him a win. He is lowest polling leader. He is despicable
comment in response to
post
There are many concerns.
1) he is breaking the law by living in a taxpayer funded house when he is not an elected MP
2) by-election will cost $2M bc he lost his own riding
3) if the Cons turf him as leader, PP will resign, forcing another by-election.
He is very expensive for a losing politician

And those charged with war crimes have the rights of due process are are able to defend themselves in court.
What was the due process for the hostages Hamas took, or the 50K Palestinians Israel has killed?
Leaders need to be held accountable for their actions.

I hate the reference and implication that women have "petty" fights but men argue over "real" things. And when men are petty they get compared to women- instead of being compared to petty boys - you know - the ones in the sandbox that if they don't get their way, they pick up their toys and go home

The NDP voters specifically voted for Carney. So why would the NDP not support him - it is what the party wanted.
Plus, they can still hold the balance of power.
