Watch Duty is an invaluable app for tracking all wildfire details in CA. UC San Diego has a network of cameras throughout CA. Image below is from one of their cameras looking at the Palisades fire from Santa Monica at Wilshire and Ocean Aves.

The yarn I used was bulky, and the coat is pretty heavy. Kureyon Air is super bulky, so it might be too heavy? Might work, tho, if you knit the panels in the dimensions in the pattern.

I love Knitty. So many great patterns! My biggest “learning opportunity” was when I knitted a thigh length kimono for my son out of Rowan cotton denim yarn (he was vegan at the time) instead of wool.It was soooo heavy he couldn’t wear it. Frogged it, and plan to knit a bath mat for him out of it. 🤣😂

My fave Knitty pattern is ‘Vog On from Summer 2007. I have knitted several pairs of these shorties. knitty.com/ISSUEsummer0...

wonderful, versatile pattern, the woman who designed it – Kate Gilbert (more on her below) – and the work of indie dyers who toil over hot, wet yarn to give us the colors and textures we love so much.”

My boys were never interested in taking up fiber arts. But they love my knitted gifts to them, and my older son wants a screenshot intarsia sweater from the old NES Super Mario Bros! 🧶 knitting #NES
