yeahhh, i got some purple sliders+housings for my realforce in recently but i just can’t bring myself to unscrew 19282819200382 screws and pray i don’t lose springs again to rebuild it…

what did you lube ‘em with? i’ve heard people like to use dry lube like RO-59 but apparently it’s kinda a pain to do.

if you’re open to more of a custom build, Qwertykeys’ Neo series boards (Neo80 in your case for a TKL) is an amazing custom board and is also wireless!

how would you compare the bump to the stock HHKB domes? i’ve been looking at these too since i’ve got a Tiger Lite w a Geon HE PCB coming at some point.

i’m *kind of* versed in basic keyboard design, so feel free to message or @ me if i can help in any way when you do start though! this is a really cool project and i’d love to help where possible.

valid! you may have to look towards designing a case of your own, as there unfortunately aren’t very many existing board designs aren’t usually designed with a roomy interior in mind (this leads to a “hollow” keyboard sound which is undesired by a lot of other enthusiasts)

i will say, the Saturn looks deceptively big, i don’t *think* a NUC would fit, and you’d def have airflow issues. as a side note - if you are interested in a Saturn-60, there’s the final extras sale sometime next week, otherwise you’d have to try your hand at finding one aftermarket.

you may need a roomy board, most of them don’t usually have enough space to fit a Pi in, although the Saturn-60 off the top of my head was designed specifically with the idea of tossing something into it.

very clean. what’s the build?

they’re closer to SKCM Blues! they’re clicky, but a bit more tactile. they’re much rarer though.

awesome!! i’m a big fan of SKCM Amber Alps as well. i’ve got some SKCM Blue Alps but they’re in kinda poor condition, and a fair number of them unfortunately have upstroke click :( i will say, i think linear Alps (SKCL) are a bit underrated as well.
comment in response to post
oooh, now this is sick. i don’t see many ergo Alps builds, not super common, but man i love Alps.

honestly i feel weird about buying keysets with languages i can’t read, but i also do like building boards that’re themed or are “replicas” of some sort of original vintage boards, so i give passes to sublegended keysets on those personal builds of mine. zero judgement to other ppl’s builds tho
