The attacks on DEI are a pretext for a much more radical agenda of reversing the gains of the civil rights movement, an objective the Trump administration is pursuing with zeal. A Great Resegregation. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

It's pretty cool that Eater put together resources for restaurants about how to handle ICE raids

I'm gonna keep reposting examples of people not taking shit because it's important for us to see that you can, simply, reject the shit. Say "Uh... no no no, we will not be tolerating that."

We can extend Worf Wednesday a little into Thursday, as a treat

I’m reporting political fundraising texts as spam. Dems can start making coffee & breakfast at home if they need more money.

NEW UPDATE to Some Actions That Are Not Protesting or Voting. - a few people have written to me to ask if I could include HEADINGS and I have done so. Also added a few more ideas. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Pointing out that Musk is an immigrant isn’t helpful, but pointing out that he’s a pro-apartheid South African needs to be daily. Apartheid ended in South Africa in 1991, when he was 20.

Has anyone told Vance that Yale isn’t real? @loloverruled.bsky.social

MTA to Feds: Drop dead

I’d been hoping they’d do this again.

We need more of this across the board. No more politely implying that counsel is “arguing in bad” faith when they’re lying to the judge’s face—call it lying.

“Germany invading Austria and Russia invading Ukraine were good actually, since the opposition party got more voters” said no one ever. NYT is a joke.

Mr Sandman Bring me a man Make him so sandy The sandiest man

State AGs are looking for federal workers who have just been illegally fired to stand as litigants in a new lawsuit trying to freeze further action by DOGE. DM me if that’s you and you’re interested and you’re live in one of the following states: NM, AZ, CA, CT, MD, MI, MN, NV, OR, WA, RI, or VT.

straining hard not to be annoying by replying "they do not want to" after every post i see wondering why the democrats are not scoring this or that obvious open goal, but yes the answer is that they do not want to

I just added more things to this list today: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

I’ve heard some stories recently of people complying with fascists’ demands after they were threatened. As a violence researcher (and someone who has received a good deal of threats), everyone should know that complying will not save you. It only teaches the threatener that threats work.

Thurgood Marshall was one of the greatest Americans to ever live, let alone practice law. Honor his legacy, protect the 14th Amendment. #BlackHistoryMonth docs.google.com/viewerng/vie...

Some people are taking issue with my even calling them scholars. I am going to continue to do that. From my standpoint, the fact that they are law professors makes this worse. That’s the point of the emphasis—to indicate my belief that this is not what we are supposed to be doing.

1/ Judge Hurson (D.Md) just issued a comprehensive opinion & TRO prohibiting the Trump administration from enforcing its EO banning gender-affirming care. It's not only a great result, it's a roadmap for other judges reviewing Trump's illegal actions. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Feels like we all need to add as much pro-social, Mr Rogers like activity as possible just as a homeostatic response to all the ambient evil floating around right now. Anyway I just signed up to read with little kids on Wednesday mornings before work.

You might have missed it, but Amazon warehouse workers in Raleigh, NC are voting this week on whether to form a union. If they win, they'll be the first unionized Amazon facility in the South. Remember that we can always find hope in the labor movement.

Among other higher priority issues, we need to take Tolkien away from these losers.

SKEET THREAD: What happened yesterday holds a powerful lesson. We must give it greater attention. LAWYERS HAVE A CHOICE. To obey the rules of our profession or to degrade our oath by putting politics above our ethical obligations. In early 2021 I wrote this piece. www.nytimes.com/2021/02/12/o...
