I can feel the BIM/VDC department at my work getting chills. Those long sweep elbows are no joke.
That being said, it would fix me too.

Second son inherits the family biz on the condition that he watches over the most beautiful art deco city on his own terms. Crown jewel of the pre-52 era and love letter to to the golden age of comics.

People yearn for language that has been laundered through decades of conservative think-tanks due to their current (fleeting?) success. I thought people wanted honesty in their politics!

Reminds me of the thing at the end of the lord of the rings where Tolkien refutes the idea that it’s an analogy for WW2/ the holocaust, sketches out a version of the story that was vastly different and also a proper analogy, and then goes “but I didn’t write it like that now did I?”

Actually I work with guys like this. My wife’s from a military family so she faces the door at a restaurant. It’s not rational, but it is common.
No bullshit. I’d guess it’s in the same family of internalized fear as doomsday prepping and those binders just in case someone’s murdered.

I think it’s getting clearer that “internet living” is not replacing social interactions 1:1 like we thought it would. It’s not like going from mail to e-mail. These two could potentially(?) be sister-lives, online lives and “the irl,” but crossover is finite, and should be treated as such.

Some of my favorite books I haven’t finished, why would I deprive myself of that first fifth of that one book from fifteen years ago? It’s important!

When it’s working, nothing happens. When it’s broken, a lotta things I personally don’t like happen. I don’t know what to call it when a lotta things I personally like happen, I don’t think it’s part of the American experience.
