Thanks! I usually try to make them life-sized but this one is scaled larger to fit the frame (4 inch moth in a 5 inch frame)

Omg yessss. If a bride wants to commission a froggy dress, I'd be game!

Absolutely. I'm working on some soft dewy moss to go with it as well. It'll be a perfectly cozy place for a nap π΄

Yup! It's made with thread, watercolors, and lutradur, a mixed media (fabric/paper) sheet

It was a little fiddly, and it's definitely not perfect. I did a digital mockup for the pattern so I could be sure the two sides would align and then it was mostly just about coloring within the lines π
(it's a little harder to make sure the padded side does not overflow it's boundaries)

That's pretty much it! This is not a true double-sided embroidery like the traditional Chinese suzhou technique. That would not be possible with this type of padded stumpwork unfortunately. Instead the body was embroidered separately before I attached it to the underside view.

Thank you! I ended up getting few of those mini pots in various shapes because they're just too cute. I think I'll tackle a bonsai next!

Yes! I will go through and see what I have. I collected a couple of Kay and Michael Dennis' out of print books this past summer but I haven't had a chance to really enjoy them yet

I think the embroidering may take longer than actually tiling a bathroom π
But worth it π

It's not as comprehensive as their online stitch bank (which has over 450 stitches cataloged), but it's truly a great resource to have on hand!
