Went to a concert last night. The guy in front of me (who was literally head and shoulders taller than me) had the audacity to complain that the 2 guys in front of him were blocking his view 🤣

‘Nickname’ is not ‘nick’ + ‘name.’ It was originally ‘ekename.’ ‘Eke’ was the Middle English word for “also” or “in addition.” Since ‘ekename’ began with a vowel, people used ‘an’ before it. Over time, 'an ekename' became 'a nickname.'

I find Christmas Eve stressful. I always feel that I'm letting my kids down again by not making their Christmas special enough. I go to bed every year disappointed in myself. Then the next morning they get up and we have a lovely day. I try to remember that for the following year. Never works though
