Toni Morrison:

I just discovered this site with many wonderful bat photos showing their interesting diversity! merlintuttle.smugmug.com/HighQuality/... I've always loved bats, definitely an animal I should draw more.

There is a verb in Icelandic that English simply doesn't have any equivalent for, and it is probably the most used verb in the language and it's so important. It is "nenna". "Að nenna" means to have the energy or feel like doing something. But we mostly use it for when we don't: "Ég nenni ekki."

The Orson Welles Show (1979), featuring an unforgettable segment with Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and the beloved Muppets! This is what American freedom is all about. Creativity and happiness. youtu.be/KJ_UGT-7xgk?...

I decided that I'm tired of dealing with my home-built server getting progressively more flakey. I'm going to replace it with a purpose-built NAS (Asustor AS5304T is likely). But first I've gotta grab all the stuff off there that I don't already have backed up elsewhere, and it's taking FOREVER!

Reality is socially constructed. Republicans (following and falling in line with right wing media) understand this as a strategy rather than a descriptive theory. Democrats don’t yet get it.

Alright Skeeties! I wanted to put all the anatomy facts in a thread to keep them organized so: WELCOME to class of 2023 Insomniac Anatomy Academy! In which I study anatomy when I can't sleep and share the best facts with you. 🧪

sneaking into an anti-choice rally with a sign that says psalm 137:9 and seeing if they really know their bible verses

Say it with your whole chest.

Forgive me for drafting off of Mr. Scocca here, but: When you nuke the archive, you nuke the culture. www.businessinsider.com/digital-dark...

Florida Republicans have introduced seven different bills so far this session that will make it harder to get people vaccinated in this state

On my way to the airport, running far earlier than I expected (traffic from Tucson to Phoenix was light). Stopped at a local coffee shop to get a drink & kill time. I just got the absolute best iced chai latte I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. It's not a box mix, and it's perfect.

Greetings, for the sixth time, from Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. Tonight's matchup is my last here for this qualifier (there will be one more game between the 2nd- & 3rd-place teams on Thursday). Tonight, though, I'm here to enjoy Germany vs Colombia. #WBCQTucson

It's a beautiful day for a ballgame. Greetings for the 5th time from Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in beautiful Tucson, Arizona for this World Baseball Classic Qualifier. Today's first game features China vs Brazil. #WBCQTucson

Peter's travel tip #122: Find a local donut shop. (Alvernon Donuts in Tucson)

Good evening, once again, from Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in beautiful Tucson Arizona, where the fourth game of this World Baseball Classic Qualifier features Colombia playing China. #WBCQTucson

Greetings, for the third time, from Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in beautiful Tucson Arizona, on a relatively chilly Monday morning. Today's first World Baseball Classic Qualifier game features Brazil vs Germany. #WBSCQTucson

0/5 stars for this brothel I just went to. Not a single bowl of broth in sight.

Greetings, once again, from Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in beautiful Tucson, Arizona, where tonight's World Baseball Classic Qualifier ballgame features Colombia vs Brazil. Prior to the ballgame, I had a pretty incredible birria torta for dinner.

First game of the day: China vs Germany in the World Baseball Classic Qualifier. First impression: Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium is beautiful. #WBCQTucson

When I go on trips, I generally avoid eating at chains. Not because I'm a food snob; I just like to eat locally when I can. Never been to In-N-Out, but a strong dust storm made me exit the highway, and there it was. Pretty good for a standard fast food burger; fries could have been crispier.

Greetings from Diablo Stadium in beautiful Tempe, Arizona, where we're here for a Spring Training baseball matchup between the Los Angeles Angels (of Anaheim and formerly Chavez Ravine) and (formerly Oakland and temporarily Sacramento) Athletics.

I don't know much, but I do know that a nice cold glass of horchata can make a lot of things more bearable.

Is there anything in Las Vegas that doesn't center around gambling? Even at the airport, you can lose all your money as soon as you get to Vegas, or lose whatever's left before you leave.

On the unlikely event you find yourself in Billings, MT, and in need of some breakfast, I can highly recommend The Sassy Biscuit Co. Those pancakes and biscuits were absolutely phenomenal.

My Temple Pilots? Stone.

Anybody wanna guess what this "Blind Date With a Book" selection is?

I couldn't possibly have eaten it after the breakfast I'd had at The Cracked Egg in bustling, metropolitan, Laurel MT this morning… So I ordered one of their enormous cinnamon rolls to go for later. The flavor of the week was a lemon cream cheese with a raspberry compote.

'The Dark Crystal' is one of my go-to "I don't know what else to watch, so I'll put this on" films.

Dear self: You're leaving on a trip first thing in the morning. What made you decide it was a good idea to full, fresh reinstall of Windows? Right now. On your desktop. You haven't even started packing.

Monotremes are the purest mammals because they are untainted.

I'm happy to announce that the concept of the bodega cat has finally made it to suburban Florida. I mean, it's a CVS, not a bodega, but close enough.

Watching the South Africa/Nicaragua game in the World Baseball Classic Qualifier, and South Africa just successfully got out of the 7th inning by pulling a hidden ball trick on the Nicaraguan runner at 3B. Niiiiiiiice.
