Anatomy Fact #1: Did you know that when your body hair stands up when you're cold, etc, it's doing so because there are TINY TINY little muscles in EACH AND EVERY HAIR follicle hauling them up? 🧪 They're called arrector pili muscles. You can see one here.

Insomnia Anatomy Academy 2: We've got fascial compartments that are basically very tight bags of tissue that enclose muscle groups that do the same thing and are next to each other. Which basically means we're flesh bags filled with other ORGANIZING flesh bags. Flesh packing cubes? 🧪

Insomnia Anatomy Academy 3: 🧪 Your teeth are joints. They're a fibrous joints called dento-alveolar syndesmoses. Science speak for: pegs of tooth fit into jaw socket. LOOSE teeth are bad right? Why's it a joint? Because a tiny bit of movement tells you how hard you're cronching! Proprioception!

Insomnia Anatomy Academy 4: 🧪 This one makes me smile. The resting muscle contraction (muscle tonus) of your LIPS keeps your TEETH in line. Really. One of the causes of buckteeth is a lip that doesn't fully cover the teeth, allowing the front teeth to get all rebellious.

Insomnia Anatomy Academy 5: 🧪 Your brain has muscle. IS it a muscle? NO. But there's muscle running through it. Because every artery and vein and yea, even arterioles and venules has smooth muscle inside it. So where your blood is, muscle is too. It's kind of romantic.

I’ve one titanium post. Once it was all settled and healed I could not feel through the tooth anymore. I was kind of surprised just how much we use the sensory input from our teeth.🦷
