If anything, the UK’s mental health crisis is one of UNDERdiagnosis not OVERdiagnosis. 📉APMS study found: Less than half of those with severe distress get treatment. Only a third needing primary care support have a diagnosis. The real issue is not overdiagnosis but undercare.

A few people have asked why Scots are protesting when Scotland has the Adult Disability Payment and not PIP. Here are some of the reasons. #WelfareNotWarfare

Save the Children says this could be the first Labour government to “oversee a rise” in child poverty rather than a decline. Still, I’m sure disabled mums can comfort their hungry children with the news Rachel Reeves has managed to stick to her fiscal rules.

Huge protest outside Downing Street for #WelfareNotWarfare against #DisabilityBenefits cuts. I’d love to show more photos but nearly everyone I know is so unsafe with the DWP that I don’t want to add someone’s pic in the crowd without their consent. The DWP is that terrifying.

Good morning. If you feel shattered after the Spring Budget and last week, you’re not alone. These #DisabilityBenefits plans are cruel—but we are not. We’re looking to each other, fighting back, holding the line. Please rest if you can. You are not forgotten. You are loved x

What’s announced is appalling—and we’ll fight it with every spoon we’ve got. But the biggest threats (like PIP 4+ & LCWRA changes) are far off for existing claimants and there is transitional protection . We have time. We have each other. Please don’t do anything rash x #WelfareNotWarfare

"[the British people] knew that I would never do anything to put household finances in danger" Mate you're about to take a quarter of my monthly income directly from me. #pip #SpringStatement

How is removing people's motability chairs and cars "helping them into work"? #pip #SpringStatement

🚨 BREAKING: Young PIP claimants challenge Wes Streeting for backing cruel disability cuts. We’ve been denied care, stuck on waiting lists, and left to fight for survival in a rigged system. #StopTheCuts - this is life or death. We won’t let them get away with it ⬇️ #GuardianLive

Too many commentators/media reports still accepting UKG line that cuts to PIP are about helping people back to work. PIP is a recognition of the additional costs of a disability/long term condition. It is NOT related to being in or out of work.

A Yale professor who studies fascism is leaving the US to work at a Canadian university because of the current US political climate, which he worries is putting the US at risk of becoming a fascist dictatorship. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

🚨 NEWS: The government’s own survey shows 4.7m people in disabled households are facing hunger, including 1.6m children. Yet just yesterday, the UK government chose to slash disability payments. This is appalling.

Disability benefit cuts will push over 250,000 people, including 50,000 children, into poverty. So I asked the Chancellor — who earns over £150,000, accepted £7,500 in free clothes & took freebie tickets to see Sabrina Carpenter — if Austerity 2.0 is the "change" people voted for?

MPs getting a 2.8% pay rise is indefensible when the Chancellor is set to announce the biggest cuts to disability benefits on record tomorrow. It’s simple: MPs can just donate the extra pay. I’m giving mine to disabled people’s organisations & urge my colleagues to do the same.

I’m finding it very hard to understand the stance of the Royal Society here. Science is part of society, not separate from it, existing in some strange metaphysical bubble. I look across the Atlantic, aghast at the damage being done to science and scientists. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

In other decades this would be an era-defining scandal with hearings on the Hill and possible legal consequences. This will run for a day on Twitter and everyone will admit they can't do anything. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Shocking and sad. Having said that, I had a conversation with a managerial colleague a couple of years ago who proudly declaimed that they “didn’t read.” I asked how they learned and it turned out they hadn’t got the words to enable themselves to explain.

Questions now being asked now about poor attendance in schools in England, & much being said about deadbeat parents. Well, maybe the government ought to first properly investigate the fact that for quite a while, some schools have been actively shedding some of their pupils… @yorkshirebylines.co.uk

Q. What is the point of a Labour government that leaves everyone poorer, but especially the poorest? A. Nothing. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Bravo. And Facebook users should take advantage of this ruling

This must be the most pro-corruption Administration in the history of the Republic.

We need more Jon Ossoffs in the Democratic Party. This is just fantastic.

There's no reason that they won't do the same at the 60 or so other universities on their list(s). AS WELL AS expanding the demands to include climate change etc...

Good to talk to @eleanormia.bsky.social for this piece & welcome to see some exploration of the longer-term knock-on costs of cutting the incomes of ill & disabled people The inability of government to properly account for these costs locks in the logic of austerity inews.co.uk/news/politic...

Something to think about

Benefit cuts are a 'violation of human rights' which will harm ill and disabled people, government warned www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

“Benefit cuts with a red rosette are no different from those stained blue. And yet cuts signed off by a Labour government are in a sense particularly brutal. They come with a tinge, not just of fear, but despair and betrayal.” My col. in tomorrow’s paper www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
