That’s awesome! I had been so busy working I didn’t hear about it until it was too late to make it happen. I will definitely be getting my boots on the ground at the next opportunity! I’m sure this won’t be the last opportunity. We have a lot of resisting to do!

(4)Here’s to wearing whatever the hell we want and reclaiming the parts of ourselves we once lost. On this day and every day, remember to show yourself love. In solidarity, drop a 💚 in the comments if you've ever felt like you had to hide parts of yourself or code switch to fit in, or to avoid pain.

(3) The full story of the green sweater is in my memoir, The Weight of Silence, coming March 2025!

(2) Reclaiming this color means taking back my confidence, embracing who I am, and refusing to let fear hold me hostage. The Weight of Silence is gone. It took me a long time to stop living from fear and start living from love—for myself.

(1) For years, I let others dictate not just what I wore, but how I felt about myself. I lost pieces of myself trying to make others comfortable. But the scars healed—and I’m not shrinking anymore.

There’s a reason I saved this for the last post. 🤦🏼♀️I couldn’t even watch the series when it came out because it hit way to close to home.!

I often feel that those who lack compassion and empathy actually have something unhealed within themselves. It’s difficult to have compassion and empathy for others if you aren’t able to have it for yourself. Too easy to project when you’re running from your own demons. 🤷🏼♀️

So much judgement towards everyone else, so little towards themselves!

I’m just self-publishing. Good for you having someone publish it! I know, it felt really good to just have my cover out there, then today after seeing the response I got on FB, it got really real!

Mine should be published sometime in February. Is yours up and ready on Amazon? That’s exciting! It’s crazy how it lives in our laptop for so long to finally have something tangible and real feed so good.

Wow, mine is: The Weight of Silence: Emerging from the Shadows of Family Addiction. It seems we might have something in common. Mine started w/my grad research paper in 2009 until I realized I was avoiding writing what I needed to write about, my family’s struggle w/addiction. Here is my cover…

Congratulations! Let’s see it! I just revealed my title today for my first book, which has me on a high! I wonder if the longer it takes, the sweeter it feels…🤔 Either way, it’s a huge accomplishment!!
