Having a wonderful weekend away in the Sonoran Desert, and found this amazing #freelittlelibrary at the Pinnacles Peak trailhead today. ❤️🌵📕

Proud of my WY peeps for not backing down in the face of this seriously distressing legislative session. We’ve been fighting hard, and there have been small victories to celebrate. Hateful legislation doesn’t deserve a place in the so-called #equalitystate

Favorite thing about DIA is the mini Tattered Cover Bookstore. They had #bannedbooks front & center. In news that will shock no one, I bought a book. 🤷‍♀️

Wake up. Resist. 📚 🙌

The past week felt heavy and painful. I am trying to focus on the joy of being with students, and know that each moment of education & love is an act of resistance & healing. Grateful for other voices to lift us up- the #freadomfighters have a new Substack! #edusky substack.com/@freadomfigh...

Really enjoying this professional read. The author centers literacy instruction on “happiness pillars” of Connection, Choice, Challenge, Play, Story, Discovery, Movement, and Design. It’s resonating with lots that I already do in my library classroom, and inspiring ideas for new lessons. #edusky

This is a pinnable post for the Book Bans & Libraries feed. See this Info Page to see if you can post to feed. If not (check first, thx), reply w/ "I agree with the terms" & I'll add you to the list. Feed looks for hashtags like #BannedBooks & #Freadom bsky.app/profile/debb... #BookSky

I can’t wait to see #thelibrarians. I’m so grateful for the many librarian heroes out there doing the work to ensure open and equal access to information, and am inspired by them to do the same. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie... 🧵1

Reasons you might be late for work in Wyoming…

@dwig.bsky.social hi! Good to see you here.

Now I will forever see the world sparkle and say “Oh, look at this poet.” Sending peace to her family.

Excellent piece. I’m so grateful for the courage these young people are displaying, and want to do all I can to #protecttranskids 🏳️‍⚧️

This is always a good time of year for #booklists, but be sure to ask the avid readers, librarians & booksellers in your life for recommendations that haven’t made a list! What did you LOVE this year? All recommendations welcome. #amreading #bookworm #tbr apps.npr.org/best-books/#...

I’m thankful for vacations! Here are some sweet notes from our Kinder babies at school last week after reading Todd Parr’s “The Thankful Book.”

Fun facts about Bluesky! 🦋

Adding a bunch of these to my never-ending #tbr A favorite recent picture book for our K-5 students is “Remember” by Joy Harjo & Michaela Goade, and we also love the Jo Jo Makoons series by Dawn Quigley 📚 👍🏻 #indigenousauthors #NativeAmericanKidLit #booksky #amreading

This was exactly what I needed today. So much to consider here. The need to create & boost “reality-based” online communities, and stay engaged. For allies to listen first. And that we can use our talents ✨ in community 💕 with joy 🎉 to take down authoritarianism. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a...

So helpful! #accessibility #alttext #howto

We brought this geranium into the house for probably 3 years ago, and it has refused to bloom. It’s the tallest geranium I’ve ever seen, and it loves to grow leaves. But last week, it grew a tiny blossom! We’re treating her like the Queen she is while we wait for the blossom to open. #houseplants

Great starter pack! #LatinxKidLit

It’s the time of year when we dive into media literacy with 4/5 students. I worked with small groups of ELs in some classes to cover the basic vocabulary, text features and content in our local paper (fortunate to still have one of those). #medialiteracy #k5library #edusky
