Haha! This looks awesome. Getting to be first in line is roughly 90% of every kinder kid’s focus most days…

Literacy is liberation. Information is power. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Your voice matters, and it’s going to take all of us to protect the institutions and people who do this work. 🧵4 #libraries #censorshipisreal #speaktruth #checkyoursources

Here’s the thing. Librarians will *never* stop speaking truth, and fighting for *every person’s right* to access and use information and literature. We will continue to speak truth, check our sources, and ask you what you’re reading. 🧵3

Yesterday, the new administration’s Dept of Education Office of Civil Rights (OCR) “dismissed 11 complaints related to so-called ‘book bans.’” (Link in comments). We’re being gaslit by our own government to believe that this isn’t a problem, to look the other way. 🧵2

Yep, I go with a Winter theme all the way. Books like “The Shortest Day” by Susan Day and Carson Ellis and “Our Favorite Day of the Year” by A.E. Ali & Rahele Jamepour Bell are great choices for that pre-break read aloud.

Oh 😥
Remember the delays in orders during the pandemic? I’m still thrilled when my processed books show up within 2 weeks after ordering. Maybe we need a picture book about supply chains? T is for Tariff?

What are the key differences for you? I feel like it’s a really tough thing for kids to grasp and I haven’t been able to articulate it as well as I would like to.
