“A 5–4 majority ruled that the language and history of the Second Amendment showed that it protects a private right of individuals to have arms for their own defense, not a right of the states to maintain a militia.”

“In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), however, the Supreme Court invalidated a federal law that forbade nearly all civilians from possessing handguns in the nation’s capital.”

Are you truly ready for another civil war? Also, I’m under the impression that the 2nd amendment applies to private citizens not state governments.

“You can build all the dick rockets you want to go to Mars while you try to leave the rest of us on the burning Earth. We’re gonna take control. This is our world, and it’s our government, and it’s our money.” — Sara Nelson, Association of Flight Attendants president

I hear you; it’s such a vulnerable feeling. We’re all here for each other, doing what we can with the energy we have. ✌️🤗

Oh yeah I can see that!

That’s what he looks like? Kinda reminds me of Dana Carvey in his SNL days.

Thanks - I checked with my boss today and his contact said one of our programs won’t likely be funded until summer. That sucks when the purpose of the program is to train people prior to summer activities, but I think we’ll find another way.

Do what you can to stand your ground and misinterpret the verbal instructions. 😉 If it’s not in writing…

Is this published anywhere? We’re in the midst of an application for directed funding that we get every year from FWS, so I’d like to share this with my boss without him raising an eyebrow at me.

Suddenly, I wish for a cello version of Woodpecker from Mars. I’m only 1 year in so I can’t figure it out just yet…but someday maybe in my 50s.

I want Mike Payton’s voice, his outfit, and his haircut. So what if I’m a girl? 😂 I am inspired to play something FNM on cello now, thanks! 😊

Oh bummer it was removed from YouTube

Oh, I’m so happy for you! I just finished it and had to take a few days to process all the feels. In the meantime, I found the original soundtrack and streamed the heck outta that. 🫰

What’s stupid is not using aforementionedAI to craft a more creative string of troll comments. Obviously they’re operating from a deficit of brain cells of fat-shaming is their go-to insult. That’s so ‘80s. 🤦‍♀️

The willfully ignorant are so frustrating. I just wanna smack ‘em in the forehead and wake them from their subservience.

Ugh, I hope you aren’t hurt too badly by the crap your neighbors voted to support. Hang in there. 💙

Same. I read a lot of romantasy, play Stardew Valley and watch Kdramas. I also try to get in a little cello practice every day. All these take me somewhere where my body isn’t as loud.

My spouse is a federal worker and I have a position in a federally funded program. Every day in our home (we both telework) feels like a game of email Russian roulette. It’s incredibly toxic, disrespectful, and un-American. Hang in there and file a personnel grievance within 15 days.

They’ve stated in a memo that managers must remove 4 people for every 1 they hire. The intent is essentially a 75% reduction in the federal workforce.

Welcome to Bluesky! As a constituent, I wonder what steps Democrats like yourself are taking to save our democracy? Rhetoric is helpful education but actions speak louder than words. What creative solutions can Congress utilize as a coequal branch?
comment in response to post
Speaking of costs; can you share how you’re investing in holding up our democracy? I appreciate these posts, and am also curious about actions.

Also, grant recipients receive funding through an intense review process and for programs which were established by Congress. The executive branch has no authority to overturn funding. There is so much behind the scenes work that state agencies, universities, and nonprofits do that serves the U.S.

I don’t believe the intent was to beg for the funding again, rather get media coverage so those who support 47 can understand just how much civil servants contribute behind the scenes. Federal employees have been thrown under the bus as “bureaucrats” but many are passionate, dedicated professionals.

I absolutely adored this show; I burned through it in less than a week. The characters are so endearing and the storytelling is fantastic!
