One more thing.
UCR is a must for colorists. It'll help keep ink densities down in CMY by adding K in your darks. Lower ink densities tend to print better and cleaner.
300% though? That's high-end printing ink density. You might be able to fudge this but 240-300 is common for 4C offset.

But Gamma 1.8 is better because my Mac says so!
1.8 is for sRGB and we covered that. 2.2 is standard for color reproduction and Adobe RGB because it has better range and... let me put it this way. Do you color dark? This will force you to color lighter. Lighter prints better.
It's all connected.

i’m honestly surprised that the big 2 aren’t just whole cloth remaking classic storylines with new talent like the movie studios are doing.

lol. someone getting a nice paycheck and doing what is asked of them. i don’t fault the colorist(s).

also… as shown in his DC work, modern coloring does him and scott no favors other than muddying up the works.

lol. i wish. it’s clearly them thinking that they need to “update” something old to click with a modern audience when SURPRISE: the audience is the same dudes that bought it 30 years ago just wanting a nice edition of the thing they remember.

not sure what you mean, but no? marvel keeps paying people to recolor jim on new editions of stuff. it’s maddening.
