That said the OBNOXIOUS levels of hate for this show shouldn't overshadow the fact that there's an objective ly good reason it still has fandom. My magical girl worldbuilding wouldn't exist without them and if Monty Oum hadnt decided to make it I'd never have picked up 3D animation. Its a rad watch

Speaking of, character arcs themselves feel really rushed and in some cases just unfinished. For example without spoiling anything Blake does something that everyone just kinda forgives her for and they gaslight the person most affected by it into not being upset about it.

I think a lot of my frustrations around RWBY surround the quality of its writing as it relates to its characters and worldbuilding. The Faunus as an allegory for racism doesn't feel very strongly thought out and Weiss' struggle with her bigotry is like an episode long.
