I’m like genuinely baffled by how this looks. At least P3 Reload, for how offensive that game ended up being to the original, was a visually competent game. Obviously this isn’t final footage but it’s such a bad first showing

people are so unwilling to try things they'll actually like, or even let it be something that could be on their radar, these days and it's insane to me

also the screen being so big and positioned the way it is makes looking at it really uncomfortable, and the UI is just spread out in a lot of weird spots and lacks so much sauce. what the hell happened??? the base galaxy wave version was so awesome, delta feels like many versions backwards

These are things I imagine will be ironed out over time, and allegedly I've heard U-Region will eventually be patched to include a lot of the missing songs (which I hope so cuz my skill rating is so ass without some of those LOL), but yeah rn in its present state it's really baffling

A lot of things about this new cab and the newest version definitely scream rushed - you can't even use the sort or filter options that are in the UI, and the ability to view skill boards, which was on the old cab, is gone? Visual feedback just also feels worse across the board too...

THE SCREEN:
- The main game screen on both cabs is a big 4k monitor, but a lot of the assets in the game are clearly not 4k, and thus it looks comparatively awful.
- There's a touch-screen panel for interfacing to the right and it's constantly screen tearing. It also is placed too low for GF

- A lot of new options were added but all of them feel bad to me as a veteran player. The highway scrolling akin to Guitar Hero looks really bad and doesn't suit this game well
- By default, the game delays the keysounds which feels awful, really baffled about that option
- Oh man, the screen...

more specifics:
- default sync options are garbage! Was able to tweak Guitar to get it feeling *mostly* there, Drums in my time playing felt awful to score on
- New Drum Kit is definitely an improvement at least!
- U-Region is presently missing so many licensed songs which is upsetting

I got to play DrumMania for a bit also but I couldn't save my progress because it was behind a version and wouldn't accept my card as a result (other people were able to get it working). I'll probably check that out soon after that is fixed

also thank you to jeff who helped it not just be my face on screen. it would be crazy to not acknowledge that this is a bananas full circle moment and i wanted their perspective as someone who has done beatmaps for songs called WORN OUT TAPES for seven years

if the last 3 chapters are this good, and that seems likely, this game is the real evolution of its genre and the industry as a whole that we've been looking for, and that sounds preachy and dumb but i really believe this. it's that special and human of a experience already
