If you’re tempted to reply to a joke post with: •picky factual correction •humorless literalism •self righteous scolding •your strident personal politics …Stop. You’re sucking the life out of the platform. Take your typing hand and slap yourself across the face instead.

Mr. Trump thank you for bringing back the oldest American pastime: coming together to tell the government to eat shit

Political purity tests have been the bane of the left's existence for more than a decade, and now it's royally fucked us. We really need to leave this shit behind. Parkrose Permaculture's got it 100% right.

Didn't know who Jasmine Crockett was until a few months ago (mainly because she isn't from my state), but she is very quickly becoming my favorite person in Congress. I don't know if you can donate to a rep's re-election campaign if you're not from their state/district, but I'm inclined to find out.

I came across this on r/50501.

This sums up what my politics these past several years have now boiled down to. "Do you hate the GOP and fascism? Cool, you're on the team. Anarchist, commie, socdem, soccer mom, liberal small business owner, never Trumper, I don't give a fuck. If you hate and despise MAGA, we'll get along fine."

The thing you have to understand about Republicans is that they won't stop until they're stopped, they'll fight you every step of the way when you try, even entertaining the notion of stopping them is an affront, and they think any damage they cause is your fault because it's your job to stop them.

Still trying to internalize this lesson. It's so much better for the sanity. Better about it now than I used to be, but sometimes I still catch myself engaging and getting drawn into discussions/arguments that don't actually matter and are just better left alone.

Cowards and traitors, all of them.

Wake. Up.

Sounds about right.
