And mind you, I'm saying this as someone who would love to be a parent someday, with the caveat that that "someday" take place in a world that's orders of magnitude less shitty than it is right now, and I've considered adoption as a viable option to avoid inflicting this hellhole on someone new.

I don't get how people can think that way. The entire purpose of building a better world is so that there's something for future generations to inherit after we're gone instead of "nothing" or "post-apocalyptic hellscape." Hating people for having kids seems kind of counter to the whole point.

Lol, it just makes me laugh. Like, really? I wish they'd tell me where to get that money then.
The cope is laughable. These MAGA people are desperate to be taken seriously. If you laugh, you take that away from them. So, we should just treat them like the joke that they are. MAGA hates that.

You know this has been brewing for a long time?
I'm old enough to have watched it grow up...

As an American, I agree. I may not like it because I happen to live here, but the honest truth is that collectively we as a country have been long overdue for a lesson in humility for a very long time now.

Been seeing a lot of finance bros or other types of people say "he didn't campai on this" OR "no one expected him to go through with it" and i don't know which one i view with more scorn

I'm with you. Hate being around people generally speaking, but planning to attend every protest I can find that's not on a workday until/unless there's a general strike, in which case it'll be protesting full-time. Going to my local Hand Off one on 4/5. Looking forward to it.

Thank you for helping to expand my required reading list this year.

It's kind of depressing that it feels like the thing to save us is more likely to be the fascists' own self-destructive incompetence than by our own activism, with the way the news has been trending lately... 😒

MGS4 took place in 2014--looks like they were off by about eleven years. But yeah, it's kind of darkly funny that officials directly acknowledge the possibility of a DREBIN in the event of a PAL for small arms.

The highest level of friendship is a friend who, if it really came down to it, would kick your ass to keep you from embarrassing yourself. Only half-kidding when I say this is how you can tell America’s oldest ally is France.

The fact that Black Americans haven't given up on this country after all this time, haven't given up on the rest of *us* despite having *every* right and reason to do so is a testament to their humanity and morality. If not for Black Civil Rights leaders, this Trump era would be all America ever was

It's a solid reminder that nations, at least on a macro geopolitical scale, don't really have "friends" and "enemies" in the traditional moral sense, just "mutual interests" vs "competing interests" respectively. Today's enemy could be tomorrow's friend/ally and vice-versa.
Trump is still shit tho

We did. And then Reagan intentionally fucked it up back in the '80's. So many of our modern problems here in America can be laid directly at that man's feet.

Actually, nevermind--stupid question. You wouldn't have brought it up if you hadn't seen it. Forget I asked.

I actually took a page out of your book and started researching local community outreach and activist groups to join. Dunno if I'd have thought to do that if I hadn't been watching your videos, so thanks for that.

I tried reaching out to MAGA family member(s) for years and got nowhere. Cut them off after November because it was the last straw.

At the risk of being the ignorant white guy in the room, do white people actually do this? That sounds like such weird behavior to me. But I'm pretty insular by nature, so I'm not going to pretend like I know anything.

Some lessons must be learned the hard way. As an American, I'm willing to withstand some hardship if it finally forces Trump voters to pull their heads out of their collective ass and finally learn some humility. I know there're a lot of people here feel same as me. To the world: don't extend help.

The fact that I'd have considered myself a libertarian as a teenager who didn't really give much of a fuck about politics up 'til I got older and...started paying attention to politics--should really tell you everything you need to know about the ideology.
I.e., it's an inherently juvenile one.

Total non-sequitur, but...we're not REALLY calling them "skeets," are we? This is like the fourth time I've seen that term today, and...I really, really don't want that to be my new normal.
Pease give me hope. I'm begging you.

It's very unfortunate that people who want America to be better end up taking the lion's share of the abuse provoked by the people who actively make it worse.

You and Jeffries are feckless cowards. Do your fucking jobs and step up or stand aside and let someone with a spine take your places, like Al Green, Jasmine Crocket, or AOC. You are unfit for leadership.
comment in response to

So, what's your plan for combating them, Mr. Senator? I keep hearing from Dems, mostly Jeffries, about how little you all can do while the REAL activists among you like Green, Crockett, AOC and Sanders get sidelined. Being the minority party didn't stop McConnell under Obama, so what's your excuse?

I know I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but every time I see something new from Trump I keep getting stun-locked as I can just feel my IQ draining with every word he speaks and writes. Holy SHIT this guy is so fucking stupid.

Same. I don't think this an uncommon take, leftist or not. I'm a zillennial, but me and my Zoomer coworkers have been saying the same shit for years now. I just hope the corps don't buy 'em all up before the rest of us can get a chance to get in on it. Would gladly trade all my savings for a home.

That being said, I'm also frustrated by all the posts I see from people of other countries claiming that Americans are doing "nothing." There is actually a protest movement on our streets that is slowly gaining momentum and there are at least a few people in government (3/?)
