I live in his district and have not been a fan, but the last half year or so he has improved a ton.

The more she talks, the better for YIMBYs.

Sadly, I feel like too many people will look at that image and say, "My God, you're right, cars are way safer, we need to spend more time in them."

It's California. We don't have quite as much gun saturation as the rest of the country does.

I mean, there have to be tens of thousands of voters who won't feel safe (or BE safe) if the fucken sex pest wins, right?

Fair. I know which rumor I'll be spreading from now on.

Fair point. Sadly, it appears to be a satire site.

I badly want this to be true, but is there any verification?

It's been a great change. I do wonder if we'll be able to get a similar change wrt the single-family neighborhoods. In a sense, Downtown was the easy part since there were so few homeowners there to begin with. The NIMBYs may hate the towers, but they're not a direct "threat" to their neighborhood.

Absolutely not. A car is a 3000-5000 lb piece of heavy machinery that is capable of going 90 mph and crushing someone to death even if it's going 3 mph.
A cyclist is the size of a pedestrian+30 lbs and will probably do more damage to the cyclist if they hit someone.
They're completely different.

Yeah but on the narrow streets up where *I* live, we all do it, so it's okay.

Any idea why that is? I would think the RRFBs work better on 2-lane streets than 4-lane, but maybe not.

I haven't had that experience at all with the RRFBs. They're far from perfect, but the ones btwn Dwight and Ashby are so much better than what we had before. I'd say about 80% of drivers stop for me, although I'm pretty assertive about stepping into the street.

I'm not a Catholic either, so what do I know, but it seems like another blatant piece of evidence that he is in fact an anti-Christ.

"It's time to fight everywhere and all at once" Pritzker says, blasting "the do nothing crowd" of Dems in response to Republicans:
"We have to abandon the culture of incrementalism that has led us to swallow their cruelty and their callousness with barely a cowardly croak."

Don't forget Kaliningrad Oblast - Russia can cede it to Poland and Lithuania as reparations for WWII.

Don't even get me started on proposals to create subsidized "teacher housing" instead of figuring out why the area isn't already broadly affordable to teachers and people of similar incomes.

They're not even the "fun dad." They're the asshole dad where the kids try to mimic the asshole behavior to gain approval. They're "impunity dad."

Not to mention the fact that Trump is just a fucking liar and will stiff them on the deal the first chance he gets.

One way of looking at Trumpism is, it’s not a coherent program it itself, but a matter of removing constraints from all the little tyrants - cops, bosses, right-wing governors, patriarchal fathers - who already exist throughout the country.

Ya know, anybody who reads Chuck Schumer on bluesky already knows these things. Stop telling us things we already know and DO something about them, you impotent blowhard.

Every time you come to a crosswalk, you should anticipate that there might be a pedestrian there. If you can't see them on a dark rainy day, you're not driving at a safe speed.
