Let's just call this what it is. It's a coup. They are firing military brass to control the military. They fired the Joints Chief chairman, Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., earlier today.

And it's spread to other states, two of which have reached "outbreak status" - New Mexico and Georgia. There are also confirmed cases in four other states - Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, and Alaska. That's seven states total.

I too have thought that.

Can they legally tell an employee they can't bring an attorney?

True, but that only works so long. And then Dems get in a clean it up and it's the circle of political life. Previously they've gotten back into power by lying but they've never really screwed around so dramatically with EVERYONE'S livelihoods. How do they expect to win elections ever again?

@briantylercohen.bsky.social, I can’t seem to find this, has anyone put together a total count of all of federal employees that have been laid off/fired? What percentage is it of the total federal workforce?

I “canceled” Bezos as a New Year’s resolution in 2024. I got rid of Amazon Prime, the Washington Post, and Goodreads. Haven’t regretted it. Though I can’t deny, not shopping at Amazon can be challenging sometimes.

I gave up all things Bezos in December of 2023 and feel very good about it. Kind of like giving up smoking.

What? Where do you get YOUR news? The dems/libs weren't the ones complaining about egg prices before the election and they sure the hell aren't the ones talking about egg prices now.

Also Mark, what exactly do you expect them to do? They're protesting, they're passionately fighting on the floor. They're trying legal maneuvers. Unlike the GOP they aren't going to break the law. What exactly are they supposed to do?

They ARE doing something, they're doing as much as they can considering they are in the minority and fighting against people who are not obeying the law. Also, the media isn't covering what they're doing because it's not as glitzy/entertaining as Musk/Trump.

The Dems are doing everything they can. They are NOT IN THE MAJORITY. It's the Republicans who should be shamed, and we Americans. We should all be calling every one of our REPUBLICAN Congresspeople, every day. Get your Congresspeople's names/#s here. Don't just call their DC offices.

Congressional Republicans have put on blinders. They don't want to know what's going on. Plus, so many of them live in white/wealthy/Christian bubbles anyway.

There has to be Congressional Republicans who aren't zealots - at least ones in purple states/areas or states that get a lot of federal funding (Montana, Louisiana, Kentucky, Montana, Alaska). Can they risk solid red states turning purple? Who do they want to save - the GOP or Trump.

So hatchet job firings without any rhyme or reason and without any preparation might be a bad thing to do to government employees? Color me shocked.
