6/6) What helps me is to refocus on what I can cherish right now π
I don't go into making connections by expecting reciprocity. Trust is gradual and earned. What I can do is put myself out there with sincerity.
"Will this person notice me? That's not the point. Here's my little show of support." ~

5/6) With hindsight, we were in completely different places in our respective lives. There is a pang of sadness.
There is a reflexive instinct to fix it but I am no longer that person. Sometimes I need to remind myself that I tried my best at the time. Or that I didn't have the tools back then.

4/6) Those moments where you haven't heard from the important people in your life for awhile or notice that some are busy following passions without you. Those irrational anxieties tend to creep up.
"Did I do something wrong?"
"Was this my fault?"
There are many old friendships that I look back on

3/6) There are times where people our lives just go their separate ways or drift off. In 99% of cases, there was no ill-intent.
I wholly encourage others to focus on their self-development and care. ~
But when it's someone close to you, it can catch you off guard, and it can feel deeply personal.

2/6) Unfortunately, I learned the hard way what it is to stretch yourself too thin to accommodate as many other people as possible.
Fortunately, I learned to set my healthy boundaries over time! I rediscovered myself without losing sight of my desire to care from a healthy headspace. π

1/6) I'd say that's a very relatable insecurity to experience. I would know because I feel that way too! π£
For me, that kind of anxiety had roots in people-pleasing behavior which sought to minimize/avoid conflict.
"Surely, as long I keep helping, people will still stick around, right?"

2/2) My own feeling of accomplishment is tied to a mental checklist of tasks. I feel that taking stock of what I've done *so far* is often overlooked
Counter that inner critic by seeking stability and inspiration from other people. I aim to be my better self, not someone else
Be kind to yourself π

1/2) Oh, I absolutely agree! ~
I can only speak from my own perspective and I've found that I rarely celebrate the "successes" in my profession.
There is a great sense of relief when a project is completed! However, I'm not giving myself credit for the time, effort, and care put into the work.
