It's definitely time to be more selective on what you play. I lightly began to look into indie games but as long as I have the Xeno "series" then it's not too bad for me.

This is so true, this was the issue with gaming becoming mainstream. In the past gaming was more niche and frowned upon sure but now it's just another major industry that favors profits over people and creativity.
