Don't you dare call that guy who went to school for 6 years "Mr."

But does this factor in that Happy XMas is just a lyric swap for the old folk standard "Stewball" popularized 10 years earlier by Peter Paul and Mary?

And you'll never guess who the other 3 playable Marvel characters are. Some kind of rights issue?

Chess was always meant to have Fog Of War but people were too lazy to play with two separate boards and a third person to referee what each piece can see.

The way the electoral college works, there's gotta be a huge meta to making liberals leave swing states to move to liberal states. Get to 51% cons in places like Fla, you win president every time even when popular vote craters. Neo-gerrymandering.

The guy's entire business is hiring someone for a job with agreed terms, then after the job is done say "Actually I'm only paying you half. Agree or get nothing and sue me"
So surprise, same with breaking his own trade deal because that's "negotiation"

Half Life Alyx if you can get access to a VR rig. It executes on that old promise that one day you'll truly transport INTO a game.
Ori And The Blind Forest otherwise. First 5 minutes with good speakers should sell you.

If he had just put his inheritance in an index fund and done this his whole life instead of any of his businesses, he'd be many times richer too.

I was wondering if that was Apple's plan, that there's a demographic that does everything on their phone, so a VR headset could be the alternative to laptop/desktop, providing a big screen, movies in a tiny dorm room, etc. ...But how you gonna type? Or work/watch with someone else?

Like those mobile game ads where they show it being played so badly people feel compelled to give it a try

That title is built differently than the US one because the Japanese has fire across the entire logo. A palette can only have 4 colors, so they're all taken by what you see in the fire: black, red, yellow, gray.
I'm no expert, I don't know how to switch palettes for the letter tiles.

There's a fun prank played on diabetics where it says "sugar free" but is loaded with sugar alcohols. Which isn't technically sugar but yes it is.

Replace "www.reddit" with "old.reddit" and you get the old reddit site without the force-app and login popups.

You probably stumbled into the whole other group of internet losers that call themselves apes based on that quote: the gamestop stock gamblers trying to convince each other not to sell during their pump-and-dump bubble.

You can make your own target shooter for it. Blink at 60fps for a target, 30fps for a threat.

All-time great box but false advertising! There is not a single toilet attack in that whole movie. I wanna see the toilet gremlin movie this marketing department incepted into the minds of everyone who saw this image.

This is maybe a Bluesky bug, but that link doesn't work, it seems to have a "..." stuck to the end of it.
Good article, neat that you can have your puzzle app hang out in "shared space", like a puzzle left out on a table. Interesting design implications and platform-enforced compromises.

I remember Quake 3 Arena being a bit of a flop but wikipedia tells me it slightly outsold Unreal Tournament. A few hundred thousand copies.
Both only broke new ground by getting away with not bothering to include a singleplayer campaign.

Yeah I remember it being billed as the next big advancement but nobody could see the difference. After Doom, Quake, and Doom 3's lighting, they ran out of obvious leaps in tech.

Megatextures just got renamed to the generic-brand "Virtual Textures" and Unreal has them so your maybe even your own game uses them?

Have you seen Mike Judge's music docuseries Tales From The Tour Bus? It's HBO so on Crave. James Brown is a 2-parter. But episode 1 of both seasons are bangers, even if you don't care about the artist or genre.

Seems like you have to be totally blind to good system design to think crypto holds promise. I wonder if the apps would work better if being bad at logic wasn't a prerequisite for developing them...
