I think Daniel Day Lewis is the best thing in both movies, but No Country is better on balance.

Never has the cliche "If you're not pissed-off, you're not paying attention" been more apt.

Thanks, but... is this useful to anyone who didn't already watch the draft? How about a number column and a team column?

I think that's the idea.

Yeah, it would be exactly same, so long as you ignore all the differences. Who'd you vote for?

WTF? Yeah, Kamala would have gotten manipulated by Bibi, bombed Iran without consulting anyone in Congress, and would be surrounded by completely unexperienced obsequious cabinet, 'cause ya know "both sides". "Nonsense" indeed.

ICE is also the fault of a complicit press. How, where and who did ICE recruit? Why isn't every newspaper in the country devoting themselves to finding out who is in this brand new secret police force that now terrorizes America? It's the definition of newsworthy. The answer is: they're afraid.

The only reason the Genius Act is happening is crypto -bros literally buying the votes.

A substantial portion of the 'establishment' in the opposition party seem to see Trump's corruption as a convenient cover for their own (relatively minor in comparison) graft. As a result, they are not advocating for real law & order; they pay lip service that is transparent to average Americans

Here's another one: Remember when Corey Booker broke the filibuster record? Yeah, then he voted to make Charles Kushner to Ambassador to France, and he voted for the Genius Act, too.

A big problem with American leadership is Dem duplicity. Alex Padilla made this speech in the thumbnail, complete with crocodile-tears, on the same day he voted for the Genius Act. I would like to hear from him (or Adam Schiff), why they voted for it. I don't see anything in their feed about that.

Best case; it will take multiple Presidential terms, and Presidents from both parties honoring deals made by other administrations, to restore some trust. So at least 10-15 years, post-Trump. And each time a President does something to undermine US credibility, the clock with re-start.

Hey, that's great. Add it to the list of ignored laws. When are we going to stop pretending they are acting in good faith? Did these MoC really think they would be let in? Assume you will be denied and have a plan when they do.

Nope - especially since he (and Schiff) voted for it! This is just blatant pay-for-play corruption, and it's OK because Trump is worse. It's why their long and tearful floor speeches ring hollow, and Dems are no more popular than the GOP after all this shit!

Is this the same vote as this? Just don't understand the discrepancy (16 vs 18 Ds)? www.senate.gov/legislative/...

I remember this original post, it was when "Agatha All Along" was on. Honestly, it sounds even better now

So they are gaming it for 'engagement' just like everything else. I swear I feel like a lot of the circular reasoning I encounter is to avoid saying "I don't know" and keep you on the site. Ads can't be far off.

I've used it for other things I am not an expert in and it's not nearly as effective. I do subscribe to plus and it would be worth more than $20 a month to because of work. But my use is so niche, they could never make money on users like me; there's just not enough of us

one complicated thought: out of the box/on the free tier, chatgpt is a dangerous product for the majority of users, in that it is capable of doing real harm, mostly invisibly. it takes a _huge_ amount of time and effort to resolve into a useful tool and the system basically fights you the whole way.

Democratic Senators must stop everything. The Senate must grind to a halt.

I've had many similar interactions. I think it's being 'gamed' for engagement like everything else online. I use it for technical stuff and if it can't find a working answer it will take you in circles. Only a matter of time before there's ads.

What evidence is there for it being a 'liberal political stronghold', other than some liberal residents. Has the actual politics of the city ever been particularly 'liberal'?

A lot of liberals live in NYC... does that make it a 'liberal city'?
