Hey Simon, Hopefully just a minor thing, strained my left calf a couple of weeks ago, immediately stopped running and walked back which I believe helped speed the recovery up to just over a week. Great to hear you're helping out too!

Todays events certainly point to market manipulation 🤦♂️

Exactly! Musk has proven time & again he manipulates the markets for profit, even had a rap on the knuckles from the SEC for it, but guess what? The guys in the SEC now are all "yes men" So either it's manipulation or the RU asset (trump) is trying to kill the US economy on purpose.

Mrs. VAX had so many faulty Libre sensors she moved to Dexcom, they're a bit better but the biggest advantage is they're willing to listen to customer complaints. Had someone call her back to schedule a call with one of their technicians to get feedback on the issues. Abbot don't care.

As Louis Rossmann says, it's time for the high seas when things get this bad!

Perhaps they thought it was time to up their game and get on the let’s use crap caps bandwagon after their chips got more reliable.

Commodore didn’t really master fitting low quality cap’s until the Amiga 🙊

Haven't watched the vid, I got one very similar to these (from ML&S quite some time ago) and the SWR was horrendous over 30mhz. Purchase from somewhere that has a decent returns policy!

I'm surprised you didn't try to get one in about flybacks 😂

Would need more info to confirm, but there's an update that needs a larger size recovery partition - it could be that. KB5034441 it's a fairly easy fix but be careful if changing your partition table as you can end up not being able to boot if you do it wrong.

How’s it coming on? Haven’t been doing much model stuff lately. Thoughts had been that as it was (at least at that time) fairly exclusive to Hornby that pricing would stay expensive

About to start building a WiFi adapter for c64 to use some telnet based BBS is yours also online? Have a modem but it’s a modern (relatively) USR 56k might have a 14.4k ISA one kicking around somewhere but nothing for the c64

Do they need to descend that low to drop sonobuoys ?

A neighbour and I have gotten to know each other quite well due to the DPD guy delivering our parcels to each others houses. Our addresses are very similar no excuse though.

Love this series, sat down a few nights ago with the intention of "I'll just watch 5 mins of this as i'm too busy" (Broken, Pt2) and before I knew it I'd watched it all. Not sure i'm keen on the Nikki/Jack thing though, takes away from it a bit.

No battery protection, just kill it. 🤦♂️

Just before the hurricane force storm blew through here I pulled out some UPS units (APC/Schneider and others) i'd fitted new batteries in about a year ago. I'd charged them up and left the units switched off. They were dead! 0.4v across the terminals meaning i've lost 8 batteries.

Very tempting! So many variants available. Do you know can the software be changed to make it a VNA?

I think it's MMCX - also in case you're not aware, some interesting stuff on the Libre SDR can be seen here: github.com/hz12opensour...

Sorted, I believe it was some sort of a local routing issue in pfsense.

To be honest, I installed latest Ubuntu on an old core2 quad q6600 with 4GB and SSD it was fine. That machine I built originally in 2007. Windows increasingly needs more resources as time goes on for not much noticeable improvement
comment in response to

You should be fine with Mint XFCE on that spec, it’s a nice Ubuntu based release so there’s plenty of support available too. Does it have SSD? if not think about upgrading, they’re cheap and make a MASSIVE difference.

Hi Will, I had a similar issue several years ago after a WSJT-X update (PC) can't recall what the issue was, but it did turn out to be quite simple. I'll see if I can find any details on it. Could be similar, or not!

Some items still show "Awaiting delivery" after being delivered. It's almost like they want you to loose track of what you've got and what you haven't.
comment in response to

How did you find their delivery time? on 26/11 I placed two orders, Global Standard one arrived much quicker than expected (about 5 days total vs the 8-12 business days quoted) However the other order placed a few hours later is stuck in Northampton since 9th!

All good this side, bit of outside work on today in preparation for fibre install next week then hoping to get some work done inside on building new shack.

Mrs. VAX gets a Cadbury's one - not sure why, the chocolates are getting smaller every year! The packaging to chocolate ratio is getting ridiculous.
