Increasingly leaning to the left in my world view. Some of my clothes are older than my work colleagues. Live music, proper beer and good food, enjoyed with family and friends - old and new, makes me happy.

Wow - the embedded video in the article is a revealing window on the average MAGA mindset, or at least how they project themselves. The lady who didn’t answer if “not having another election was a good thing” let her act slip - that was the most revealing of all - even the die hards have doubt.

I’m aligned to USA being a threat because of what they won’t do instead of what they will do.

Netanyahu running rings around Trump. With the failings of the current administration fully exploited, USA are bound into this course of action, with no choice but to pivot away from negotiating to supporting Israel’s actions. Netanyahu has the whip hand, for now, his strong man position maintained.

Sedated by money. As long as the paycheck keeps coming and the mortgage and credit card bills can be paid. As long as you can put your kids through college/ university. As long as you can have your holidays, buy your wine or beer, eat out, drive a nice car. As long as most people can do this….

Yes I know, the collapse of the NHS, policing, infrastructure, and the economy…. But what have Reform ever done for me?
Well Reg, there’s the flags. They’ve stopped flying them. And the migrants, even though local government has little to no impact on them, they like to mention it.

From what I’m hearing about KCC, half of the councillors didn't expect to win, have neither the time nor talent to fulfil their duties, cannot fill their committee allocations, are so afraid of scrutiny that they have cancelled every meeting since the election… assume DOGE to be a similar situation.

Yes, after the event…. damage done. Any legal case will mean our council tax goes up to cover the pay outs. This needs stopping before it starts.

As a resident in Kent, who didn’t vote for Reform….
I have little faith in the diligence of a process using people working for free, I fear this is just mining for ammunition to be thrown at PMQ’s & spouted to Laura K on Sunday. I don’t expect GDPR to be respected.

I said travel in, (not in it) but perhaps I should have been clearer, travel into London. Once you’re in it’s good. Getting in and back out is difficult.

I’d rather the focus was on how a private vehicle was able to enter a pedestrian area with so many people in it. How did the safety planning fail, was it adequate in the first place. This type of incident shouldn’t be possible to happen.

I’ll rephrase…
Travelling in is ok, but takes time. Getting back from London into Kent on the train after an evening performance or event that finishes at or after 11:00pm is difficult or impossible. Travelling in/out is expensive relative to the cost of public transport in other countries.

My points are accessibly and cost. London, due to its size and being the capital, means it takes the lions share of jobs, entertainment, etc, etc, from the SE. Accessing London is not easy or cost efficient.
comment in response to
post
Not London Transport - travelling in and back out from Kent, or anywhere in SE outside the zones, in my case 32 miles, is a nightmare, hugely expensive and seems to take way longer than it should.

Travel in from the south east and the last train back home often means you have to leave earlier than you would want to, having to get across London from the venue. Countless gigs I’ve had to leave before they finish, so yes from that perspective it’s shit - the connections don’t run late enough.

I’m sure London is deserving of the 2nd best city in the world title, if you have the money to spend and you don’t have to travel in.

Given the current situation I doubt he’d want to become leader. He’s only interested in winning and he won’t want to go head to head with Farage. The prospect of 2 self serving windbags fighting for the gammon vote would, however, be entertaining.

Apathy kills democracy. I’d encourage people to do their research, accept the compromise at each part of government and party offers & make their decisions. I would have more respect for someone who voted xxx for whatever stated reason than someone who couldn’t be bothered to vote- no vote no voice.

Not all of us. Very low turn out. I’m disappointed in the result, and concerned for the chaos that will ensue. Glad that where I live in Kent, we didn’t elect a reform councillor.
