I do think there’s an obnoxious and unhelpful narrowness of political perspective on here, but it’s kind of a minor problem.
Bigger problem is me understanding that my soccer posts are a brief sports interlude for people who are here to say very specific things about politics.

Dems shouldn't surrender on immigration and the protests and authoritarian overreach, but neither should they just follow the bouncing ball when the media throws it
and in particular the way the national TV media never covers healthcare, food assistance, and tax policy is a big problem!

the way I look at it is that if you control the coercive power of the state you have a lot of avenues for combating authoritarians and fascists, but if you don't, there's a ton of evidence that targeted, strategic, peaceful protest is more effective

long term planning is not optional and doing it badly once doesn't preclude its necessity

interesting q to what degree this is about
-cnn getting drama about Democrats
-Kat actually doing the work of getting booked
-Kat being good on TV
1 is a structural problem for Democrats but 2 and 3 are solvable

Obviously screwing up the first attempt at a rationalized football structure is bad but it is also an attempt and it seems like they're trying again with Venkatesham

this is online fan conspiracy theory brain -- if the club is being cheap they'll do the cheap thing (keep Ange) not the expensive thing (pay a fee for Frank) as a bank shot to trick(??) the fans

we did a @doublepivotpodcast.bsky.social profile on Sesko one year ago and it more or less still holds -- obvious profile and all the tools, but when will the actual skills and production come along www.patreon.com/posts/105302...

Ramos launched an inexplicable public attack on AOC's constituent service a few years ago, the personal chaos side of this is something she knew at least

I think elected Democrats should ask themselves “what would Barack Obama do?” more often. And it’s pretty easy to hear him making a bunch of jokes about them and then switching to a serious point with “but here’s the thing” and then making the point about Medicaid cuts.

this is a response to AOC leaving her off her slate isn't it

I definitely wonder if she's doing this because AOC left her off her slate (and there's history there, Ramos inexplicably launched a public attack on AOC's constituent service a few years ago)

she is personally a complete agent of chaos, but I definitely didn't think it could get this bad
