You are absolutely correct. The Gilded Age of robber barons and railroad monopolies. McKinley was owned by oligarchs like JP Morgan, John D Rockerfeller and Cornelius Vanderbilt. It ended badly for him.

Good point. During the War of 1812 the Southern Rebublicans were reluctant to support the invasion of Canada because they feared if it became part of the USA they would vote Federalist and anti-slavery. See Alan Taylor's excellent book, The Civil War of 1812.

I doubt Putin actually believes any of that claptrap about NATO fighting a proxy war against russia in Ukraine blah blah blah. It's just a lame excuse to justify a naked grab for land, resources and power, just the same as his beloved Soviets and tsars before him.

Yes. I love to combine urban geometric shapes with more intuitive brush strokes, scribbles, light, colours etc.

Thanks. It's a combination. It was from a close crop of a much larger photo I took, but I thought the composition was too horizontal, so I took some separate photos of a construction crane tower and dropped it in the foreground.
