Hi Patrick! And all his novels are connected. Characters meet up, age, move on…. It’s very cool.

I can’t say enough great things about this series. Early issues of it came out roughly the same time as my comic In Maps & Legends, many years ago, and the art and story still knock me out.

That book literally hit home for me, as I was a newspaper boy from '82-'85 in Iowa when those boys went missing (that's the premise of the Kali White novel).

And this morning I finished up a great re-read of the first Mick Hardin mystery set in rural Kentucky, The Killing Hills, by @chris-offutt.bsky.social. Great characters, fascinating setting, pitch-perfect writing. (I'm re-reading the 1st 3 before I read the 4th in the series, which just came out).

It’s like a race to the bottom to see who can come up with the meanest, most ignorant ideas and then force them onto the world.

Don’t you know the band would rather just do a simple concert video one of these days…
That was pretty amazing, tho.

I'm always impressed by folks who can do the voices and make the characters come alive. I just don't have that skill set!

It’s so awesome when your kids become the DM, isn’t it? My son is wayyy better at running a game than I ever was.

He could tighten up his steps a bit, IMHO…. But otherwise, solid work.

"Okay, fine." Bim took a deep breath and belted out: "Hi Mom! So good to hear from you! What's up with you?"
Mom laughed, just once. "That's better." She paused. "I'm calling because I need you to do something for me."
