I remember seeing this title on the racks back in the day but never read it. It was good, huh?

God, I love Ginger Rogers. I think folks forget she could do a helluva lot more than just dance with Fred Astaire (not that she wasn't perfect at that too).

After the dust settled on my 10-year old Star Wars fanaticism, these were the spaceships of my youth!

Correction: Murmur and Reckoning. One came out when I was almost 16 and one came out after I had turned 17. But both close.

Ha! I just went through this exercise. I tried to make both Murmur and Let It Be fit but I was 17 by only months when they came out. Purple Rain too.

I remember how excited I was about the introduction of Jericho, a character who read as gay to young gay me, but DC fumbled (and continues to fumble) the follow through on this character, sexual orientation aside. Even Marv didn't seem to know what to do with him.

I wasn't really into horror comics back in the day but not a one hit the racks that I didn't pick up and check out the cover. And agree with the others: Bernie Wrightson was one of the masters.

I watched something recently (an old Batman TAS ep? a DC animated film? i know it had the Joker) in which a guy who was bored with his life was made miserable by the fact that his wife made meatloaf every week. I would love for someone to make me meatloaf every week!
Also: Bat Out of Hell rules.

...a bit spoiler-y so you might want to avoid it but it has an interesting comment about one of the characters and the time in which it was written. Sounds great!

Lol. I've always seen myself as a bit of knight/squire type. When the mood strikes.
I thought I'd heard of The Long Ships but a quick web search tells me I have not. The book's Wikipedia entry is...

Granted I've had my head buried in Medieval stuff lately but I can't not see a knighting ceremony happening for the guy on all fours (congrats to him) and something equally symbolic happening with the St. Andrew's Cross. ;-) Beautiful art as always.
