This is likely outdated by now (from Nov) but interesting nonetheless.

Surprised that The White Lotus changed their theme song.

A very weird thing on LinkedIn is some industry folks celebrating R/GA’s impending sale to PE as “escaping the clutches of an advertising holding company.” As if it will be good for creativity? Yet another example of senior advertising execs lacking business acumen.

Going to come back to this tweet in a few years to see if it holds true: when all is said and done, from a revenue perspective the AI wars will boil down to a fight for ad revenue. In the same way that the decade+ long streaming wars are now chasing ad revenue.

Once again I am reminded that United Arrows exists, and once again I am sad that they don’t sell outside of Japan.

Today I learned two things: there's a comet that might hit Earth in a few years, and apparently half the internet sees this as good news. We should probably talk about that.

The Super Bowl is a great reminder that advertising is the oil for our capitalist machine. $8M / 30 seconds to an estimated 120M viewers (though I’m always excited to see the scrappy brands that do local spots).

The NFL just stole Christmas from the NBA and Adam Silver is talking about making a new league in Europe lol. Can’t even make it up 😂

I need to know if this is all part of some coordinated soft power effort by the Church. And if so, I want to know which agencies are involved at the top. Does the Pope sign off on the cultural strategy? Is this all leading up to something bigger? 🧐

🤣

2012: “join Twitter? just so I can learn what some moron had for lunch?” 2024: “I’ve joined Bluesky to follow the ‘Good Lunch’ Feed. People post their lunch and others reply good lunch when it’s a good lunch”

Well I guess I’m posting here now, too 🤷🏽‍♂️

How will Bluesky not follow the pattern of becoming hot garbage once it is open and available to everyone?

Folks who have maintained a Twitter account: Are you mirroring your posts? Or keeping everything separate?
